Randumb raw thoughts

Guest chirs3

--> God damn it, Perfect, I marked out for your return and all of your Heat matches. The least you could have done was given me a decent showing on a real show.

--> Everybody who's saying "Why is the Undertaker mad?! He asked Flair to pick him! This makes no sense!" - you are really really stupid. Taker was just rubbing it in. He said "So every moment of your day can be a Wrestlemania moment" - he was implying that if he was around Flair, he'd never let Flair forget it. HE DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO GO THERE.

--> All the other... three point five matches were standard Raw fodder. I'll get to the main event in a minute.

--> Normally, I'm a Lita defender. She's entertaining in the ring, and I personally think she's fucking hot.

But God damn, that was the most poorly executed move I think I've ever seen. Ever.

--> I'm willing to bet there's going to be heavy duty trading on Smackdown!. My question: WHY?! Why couldn't they just draft the real rosters and leave it at that?! Book a dream card Smackdown!, since it's the last with everyone there, and let us die happy? WHY?!

--> That main event... ugh...

I've been advocating Jericho's getting the belt, but even if it didn't have to happen, could Hunter's retaining have been any more boring? Any time Stephanie made a cover, there was no air of urgency, no "Oh god no!" Booking herself in this match at all was a mistake. Her just standing there screeching orders really added nothing but a headache. She and Jericho should have at least saved the laying-down toward the end, when JR could have bawled "NOT THIS WAY! NOT THIS WAY! ONE! TWO! THREE- NO! THE GAME BREAKS IT UP!" or something.

I did get some pleasure from seeing Steph clinging to the ropes for dear life.

--> Overall assessment: Fuckety fuck fuck fucky fuck.

Your thoughts?

I'm still not sure what to think of the rosters until SD is done, so I'll hold off comments until then.

Hear hear on also noticing UT's nonsensical reaction to being picked by Flair. Of course, McMahon's "word" to set things straight leads me to believe he'll trade guys like Benoit, Jericho and Lance Storm for the nWo, so Raw will have at least some guys who can wrestle ( oh wait, I said I wouldn't comment on the  draft... damn!)

Lita needs to take Rico's place down in OVW.

Man, how quickly did Jericho disappear once he took that spill out of the ring before HHH pinned Steph? Not one sign of him after the pin and the Trip and Steph show-closing theme song started (na na na na na na na na na etc...) Welcome to midcard purgatory, Y2J. Say hi to Angle on his way down to Jakked ;)

Eh, I've forgotten everything already...

could've been better, but i was happy with it.  for the most part i was happy with the drafting, & the title match wasn't all that bad.  what little wrestling there was sucked, but i didn't really notice.

I thought that the main event was well done...

If by well done you mean:  "Served to further bury Jericho and make him look like a bitch, while giving HHH another *yawn* boring victory"

Then I agree.

i know the victory was pathetic. it seemed totaly out of place for a main event finish. of course i wasn't expecting much from a match involving stephanie or for that matter i wasn't expecting much from HHH and as usual he didn't disappoint

Watching Perfect vs Tazz was like getting teeth pulled... Eugh, I had to turn away many-a-times.

I thought the draft was well done in that they had the ticker and a profile on each wrestler traded.

Anyone else catch the ticker giving away the next like 4 guys before they were announced?  Come on now, who says the internet is giving away spoilers?

The Draft choices went pretty well (GO BENOIT) in that, well, it went as planned.  Smackdown is more wrestling, Raw more sports entertainement.

The crowd seemed sort of dead...

It looks like Vince hired Perfect to keep him away from the XWF. He's just wasting money. At least the non-wrestler jobbed in the main event.

Ouch for Jericho... man he was made to look a sap this night... I feel sorry for him.

After that awful match, he was then drafted 13th, after the like of Steven Richards and Mark Henry that don't even wrestle...  Jericho isn't even midcard now, he's NO card according to that... and he got on Smackdown that's stacked with talent.

The match was well done as in...

Stephs role was limited, yet involved.  She didnt do anything that made the others look weak, she just covered when she saw the opportunity.  HHH looked better in the ring and really stiffed the shit out of steph which is a definate plus.  He already gave her a pedigree at wm, so a spinebuster was fitting.  Jericho may have looked weak but what else is new?  Were there ever times when I thought that HHH would lose?  No, of course not, but I never figured he'd lose in the first place.  For what it was, it was done as well as it could have been done.

Cept for Steph TOTALLY no selling the spinebuster... But she milked her exit....

It's offcial I'm going to stop pimping Hennig on the board, he has dissapointed.

Raw seemed OK but totally unspectaclar.  Rock getting the crowd to chant at Vince screwed up his timing and the ME did what I thought, it made Jericho look like a completely ineffective wrestler and it played to a dead crowd.  HHH has officailly buried Jericho for the time being, unless he gets a angle where he is bitter for the way he's been treated and for getting a low pick (25th overall).  I would just take him off TV and give him a 3 week vacation though, maybe that way the fans will forget how bad he has been made to look.

Jericho did look weak before, but he had the belts and the building the pussy heel trying to prove himself character til some of the Steph crap.

Now, there's no reason to care about him... he should be pissed and crying vengeance, but I guess beating up that schmo in Montreal stopped his pain.

The problem with the draft was the people chosen.  Of all the people chosen in the first 10 rounds, I give a rat's ass about the following:

Rock

Angle

Benoit

Hogan (to an extent)

Booker

RVD

Lesnar

The Dudleyz, while not good wrestlers, were decent choices during the first 10 rounds because they pushed the WWF's storyline of breaking up tag teams.  Chuckabilly and Regal are excusable because they're title holders.  The nWo is somewhat excusable because they're involved in a big angle, as is Taker.

HOWEVER, there were a LOT of people who shouldn't have been in the top 20, like Lita, Rikishi, Mark Henry, Big Slow, Kane, MAVEN, etc. and it just killed it for me.  They could have picked almost any of the midcarders or lower carders instead of the wrestlers I just listed and get a better response.

She had been really sloppy in the past year, but she's gotten even WORSE in the four months or so.  I think that they either need to put her in detox (she looks drugged up) or in OVW for the time being.

That hurricanrana was pretty fucked up but she is getting a bad rap I think.  She is arguably the most over woman in the wwf so it made perfect sence for her to get drafted in the top twenty because they had to stick one woman in there.  Better her than Trish, or Stacy, or Ivory, or any of the other divas, except for Molly of course.

I disagree, Dreamer. The fact that Trish is getting better and better in the ring, hardly blows any spots (at least compared to Lita), and gets extremely good reactions makes me think she should've been chosen in the first 10 rounds rather than Lita.

I'd draft Trish anyday :)

What was the point of the Perfect/Tazz match anyway? It seemed like a Heat type match just shoved in there for no reason. Couldn't they have come up with a match that might have added interest to the draft?

Man, Hennig did not look like he wanted to be out there. The guy looks so unmotivated right now, it's not even funny. Wonder if it was his reaction to jobbing to Tazz or his reaction to being on the crappier of the two rosters...

That opening match really looked like they had no clue what they wanted to do out there. I don't know who's fault it was, but the final minute was just blown move after blown move. It looked like Hennig was giving Tazz every opportunity to lock in the Katahajawhatever, but Tazz kept do-si-do'ing and throwing punches. Maybe Tazz thought they had more time or something and Perfect was trying to end it. Either way, Perfect I think has outstayed his welcome. We need new blood in front of the camera. Let him be a trainer or something.

As far as Trish over Lita, I'm just waiting for the day Lita really fucks someone up with that Cheatercanrana*, to the point that she either retires, the crowd turns on her unmercifully, or she's tossed out unceremoniously on her exposed thong.

* and I hope it's X-Pac on the receiving end  ;)

Ivory has said that on two occasions, she took Lita's knees to her chest. That might explain why they look so... swollen lately...

One thing I didn't understand was the whole Stone Cold is a free agent by contractual agreement thing.

I'm sorry, but I thought the term, "free agent" meant you have no contract.  F*ck'n morons.....

Please stop complaining about Jericho's draft position.  He was not eligible to be drafted during the live show because it was possible he'd win the world championship, and all the draft picks done after that were randomly done by a 'lottery' (they could've made this more clear I know).  Presumably they did the lottery stuff to not hurt the feelings of the guys that would be picked at the end.

I had high hopes for Hennig but since he was burried the night after the Royal Rumble by Steve Austin (Imagine that) He has disaapointed me. I totally Agree he should be training the younger guys or working as a road agent.

As far as the Draft goes, Personaly, I'm very pissed off! I'm going to RAW next Monday and Now I don't get to see Angle, Jericho, Storm, Hogan, Christian, Stacy Keibler, and I didn't think I would see him but now I know for sure I won't, Benoit.

Might as well hack off my tickets now since my favorites won't be there.

My problem with Jericho's drafting is that it was implied that Jericho would be a free agent if he lost the match, not a lottery pick.

Poor Jericho...........you know what the saddest thing of all about that main event was ? All the Stephanie near falls seemed more believable than the Jericho near falls.

And about the draft lottery.........where's Funaki, Hugh Morrus, Mike Awesome and Bull Buchanan? Not that I'm dying to see any of them come back, but I thought they'd at least be mentioned.
