Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted May 27, 2003 (edited) Does anyone else find it strange that none of the matches have gone past the 15 minute mark ? Does anyone else think they may be doing a losing streak gimmick with Kanemoto ? First off, he loses to El Samurai in less than 10 minutes, and then loses to Jado in just over 5. Might this be building him for a last minute winning streak ? Edited May 27, 2003 by NoSelfWorth
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 27, 2003 The NJPW Jr division has been rocking and rolling all year with awesome matches, wait for the later matches which will be much more high profile and see how they go then. I wouldn't call Kanemoto's form a "losing streak" I think it sucks that he had to drop his first two matches, but with new faces like Sugiura, and Naruse will get a heavy push for his match vs Minoru Suzuki, he's just getting shafted so they can push others. Kanemoto vs Tiger Mask is on 5/30 it's either Kanemoto's revenge for 4/23 or TM4's revenge for 5/
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted June 2, 2003 The tournament is about half way over now, and here's how it's shaping up. Block A: 1. AKIRA [6] 2. Takashi Sugiura [6] 3. Jushin Thunder Liger [6] 4. Minoru Fujita [6] 5. Ebessan [2] 6. Gedo [2] 7. Ryusuke Taguchi [0] Block B 1. Tiger Mask [6] 2. El Samurai [4] 3. Jado [4] 4. Koji Kanemoto [4] 5. Masayuki Naruse [4] 6. Masahito Kakihara [2] 7. Stampede Kid [2] NJPW seems to want to run a Sugiura vs Kanemoto match (they did an angle for it a few shows back) so that's looking good for the finals. I'm not sure if AKIRA and Lyger have wrestled yet, but the semi finals will come down to some combo of Sugiura, Lyger, and AKIRA most likely The only matches left for Kanemoto are against Naruse and Stampede Kid, both of which he should win, plus his win over TM4 will make him a lock for the semi finals.
