Guest Hulkamania Fan Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I remember when it ran wild. It was a shock for the wrestlers and Vince Mcmahon because every place Hulk Hogan went he just sold out. Hulkamania was the biggest thing in wrestling in 1983 - 1993 and Hulk Hogan was the biggest wrestler back then. Hulk Hogan almost wrestled every ppv & Saturday Night Mainevents. Hulk Hogan had many feuds with many greats such as Andre The Giant The Undertaker Ulimate Warrior Sid Ric Flair and many others. Hulkamania was so strong then and it was a huge success. I also luved it everytime real american hit and Hogan came out.
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Ahhh Hogan was Huge in 1981 in the AWA, Hulkamania wasn't a shock in 83, You may be the worst of the worst among the new batch of posters we have here at TSM
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Vince new Hulkamania was going to explode the way it did, it's why he brough Hogan over. The AWA fan base was rabid for him to win the title and that's one reason Hogan got the belt in his first match. Just make him the champ and let him run with it. Hogan also had that crossover main stream appeal that McMahon was desperate for from his appearance in Rocky III. And knowing Mr. T from that allowed him to come in for Wrestlemania I and really sell that show. Of top Hogan feuds you skip Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy and Paul Orndorff. Even the Earthquake feud drew well.
Guest Hulkamania Fan Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Hulk Hogan also had great fueds with the Macho Man. They had many battles and all there WWF. All great matches. Hogan & Macho Man brought the best out in each other.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 <-----huge Hogan mark as a kid, so yes I remember when it ran wild.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 I started watching wrestling in mid 1984 ...Hulkamania was only a few months old....I disliked him pretty much from the start and grew into a passionate hatred. The only time I ever liked Hogan was about the first month of the NWO and that was over with quickly. I respect what he's done but I hate his character and I hate the way he's been pushed in my face for the last 20 years.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Even the Earthquake feud drew well. Haha because Earthquake sat on him and ripped off his cross necklace. Tugboat wants us to all send get well cards to the Hulkster.
