Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Psyche! Monty Python's Flying Circus defeats the Twilight Zone 11-8. Monty Python's Flying Circus was a sketch comedy program that took contemporaries such as Benny Hill and Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In a step farther in emphasizing improvisation, off the wall humor, music and wacky characters in a manner that would help lead to such programs as Saturday Night Live and The Kids in the Hall in the future. The program debuted on the BBC on October 5th 1969 and ran until December 5th of 1974, developing a huge fanbase in Britain and a cult following around the world, especially in the United States. The Monty Python troupe consisted of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The group have many comedy albums and films to their name as a natural outgrowth of the show. Along with having performed comedy concerts and stage shows. Notable sketches from the program include the Ministry of Silly Walks, the Spam sketch, Bruces, Cheese Shop sketch and the Dead Parrot sketch among many beloved others.
