Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 It's almost like someone saw the reaction for Flair/Shawn and realized that that might, just might counteract the suck factor of Hunter/Nash, so they rushed to bring back one of the shitiest workers they could think of. WHY IS RANDY ORTON BACK? What purpose does he serve? Were we that desperate for some to make the main event scene even worse than it was? He has NO positives. They should either can his ass or send him to OVW and order that he not suck. Instead, he's back in the main event. I hate this company. God willing, he faces Nash next week, royally fucks ANOTHER move, and hurts them both.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I don't know why they acted like it was a big deal Orton came back. I mean- who fucking cares- its Randy Orton. I wonder if he'll pull a Nash again- That'd be hilarious. What's the point of giving HHH two managers when his next match- IS IN A FUCKING CAGE????

I hate this company. Yeah, they are SOOOOOOOO giving him a main event push. Right. He'll be upper midcard at BEST, and I doubt that. When he was first in Evolution did he get a huge main event push? No. So why do you think it will be any different this time around? Orton is a mediocre worker, but he's a decent mic worker. Though he's not so good without RNN. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Who said Orton was a Manager?
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 trust Anglesault to be so Optimistic Orton being back kinda brings back the idea of the Evolution with that Useless Lummox Batistia who can't seem to go anywhere with his wife without tearing a tricep
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted May 28, 2003 For what it's worth AS, I don't think he'll be in the main event. I think he is just associating himself with the main event players. There is too much shit going on for him to make the main event. I don't think they'll even put him in the slot of last match on Raw for at least another year or so.(unless he tags with HHH) Unless you are talking about him just not being there period, which in that case then he needs about another year or so of OVW. Then again, everyone they've brought up from OVW in the last year and a half could've used another year or so there.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Yeah, they are SOOOOOOOO giving him a main event push. ::Watches him beat up two main eventers:: . When he was first in Evolution did he get a huge main event push? He was hurt the whole time.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Randy Orton came back from his injury on the 2.24 RAW. He had two matches- lost both. Then he got injured again. He's worthless.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 It gives him something to do and a reason for him to be on the card. He'll do well as HHH's lackey, especially if they ever decide to turn Flair.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Maybe, now that Goldust's back, they'll have the Orton/Goldust feud?

Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I like Randy Orton. He has a 'look' that I can't describe. I don't know why, but whenever I see Randy Orton, he just screams "Main Eventer" to me. He just needs a finisher and a good entrance.

He just needs a finisher and a good entrance. And the ability to not get hurt doing his OWN finisher. And the ability to not get hurt 5 days after his return match
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 If he doesn't get injured again he will do OK, just give him a chance.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 My belief about Randy Orton is that they're STILL trying to make him into Rock version 2... They shove him down our throats until he starts getting better somehow, then we cheer him as he becomes a main eventer.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 . He just needs a finisher . Oh, he has one. He can't perform the relatively simple move without hurting himself
Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Another injury-prone mediocre wrestler back on Raw, just what that show needs. And the fact he'll just be plain evil HHH henchmen again showing no signs of personality will just make it worse, though it's still not as bad as "Blue Chipper" Orton being rammed down our throats. Looks like we can look forward to fucked up moves and weak beatdowns on HHH-challenger-of-the-month until he screws up and injures himself again.
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 He was really entertaining in his 'RNN' thing while he was injured late last year.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 If he doesn't get injured again he will do OK, just give him a chance. I gave him a chance. On SD! He sucked. I gave him another chance on Raw. He sucked and got hurt doing his OWN finisher. I gave him a THIRD chance on Raw. He sucked and got hurt twenty minutes in
Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 28, 2003 . He just needs a finisher . Oh, he has one. He can't perform the relatively simple move without hurting himself I meant that he needs an innovative finisher that can pop the crowd. Not a rehashed finisher that has been used by six different people. As far as the injuries go, it's part of the business. Orton has just, thus far, been unlucky. Ken Griffey Jr. is still a good baseball player...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I have a feeling Orton won't be a wrestler and will become a Life long Manager/Announcer... He has too much charisma and looks to just waste away... He will be useful in some capaticy... Maybe he oughta find himself his own Piper... Logic suggest that would be Jericho then...
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 He will be useful in some capaticy... ... Maybe. I meant that he needs an innovative finisher that can pop the crowd Because he'll surely be able to make something up and perform it well
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Randy could be big, he just needs to be careful. I see him as at least a future Intercontinental Champion.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Randy could be big, he just needs to be careful. I see him as at least a future Intercontinental Champion. That would suck. Wrath did in wCw... I didn't really watch WCW. Did Wrath fuck up his original finisher, almost hurting the other guy, only to repeat it and hurt himself?
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted May 28, 2003 For some reason I see Randy getting fired for doing something stupid out of the ring. Maybe I'm just channeling Nathane Jones. Orton could be good, but he did SOOO bad against Storm and Christian that time. Plus everbody involved with HHH gets dragged down. When Evolution first started Orton was downgraded to silent lackey. Ditto w/ Batsista.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Did Wrath fuck up his original finisher, almost hurting the other guy, only to repeat it and hurt himself? What's your point? Accidents happen in this business. Paul Orndorf hurt himself giving someone his finisher (piledriver) ...and he doesn't receive any flak for it. We'll see, but I think that Orton will be a big star. Especially since he is WWE grown. I just don't think it matters what move Orton was doing when the injury happened. It could've been any move, it just happened to take place during his finishing sequence. Owen Hart injured Austin pretty bad...and Owen still seems to be a 'smark darling.' I'm not going to tell you to "give him a chance" because you already addressed that. I just think that you prematurely stereotyped him...much like you did for Brock Lesnar. Of course, now you're singing a new tune for Mr. Lesnar, and time will tell if you do the same for Orton. Done.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I would bet $50 they have either forgotten or will ignore that Randy Orton fucked Goldust up. If they do plan to build on the Goldust injury angle, the only outcome I really see happening involves Booker T losing the IC title to Orton. And that makes me mad. It times like that when I have to remind myself it's just a TV show and Booker's still getting paid.
Adam 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I don't think Randy as IC Champ would be all that bad. At least he's not JR's best friend anymore.
