Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I like it a lot too. Good work, Cubano. (Though that double-post effect needs to be edited out.) Oh, and Christopher is willing to accept MUCH lower payoffs from promoters who are friends of himself or his father.
Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted March 26, 2002 It was great jay top class work there only qualm where did you pull the figures out for what Brian Christopher asks for and the amount offered to macho man? Thanks for the kind words, the reason it was "top class" is because the Smarks RULES THE SCHOOL. Jesus, thats the type of line you would expect out of a guy who hasnt slept in 36 hours because he has been cramming for a test that he has little hope of breaking the D barriar on. Oh wait. As for the salary info, the Savage thing was plastered all over the net and I think I mentioned it in a news update at some point somewhere. The Brian Christopher thing was just something I saw online a while ago and it stuck with me as I was shocked how much he was asking (and getting) for a single Indy appearance. Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Quick correction: The WWF roster as a whole does not make 30% of the WWF net revenue, afte rdigging a little deeper (and some help from the Meltz) that number looks to be around a much lower 12%-15% range. This number is shockingly low if you consider wrestling to fall under the same classification as "legitimate" American sports.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 27, 2002 So just who gets the other 85%-88% of the net, anyway? In the old days the McMahons could screw the boys out of their share of the profits, but it's a publicly owned company now, they're required by law to disclose all their earnings to all stockholders. Of course, they could lie, but in this post-Enron era that's not a smart move.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Who wants to bet that head writer Steph, head of new media Shane, CEO Linda, and chairman Vince get salaries that, combined, equal at least half of what the active roster is being paid?
Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Half? I bet it's more like twice.
Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted March 30, 2002 Who wants to bet that head writer Steph, head of new media Shane, CEO Linda, and chairman Vince get salaries that, combined, equal at least half of what the active roster is being paid? First, about Jay's rant. I already email him but again... Holy $#it ! That was a Great Great Rant. Now about the quote. You know something, the WWF its their Company, I know is not right but still busines are business. And about your bet (I know is not for real, so calm down Im not bullying you), maybe I didnt understand your bet, you said this 4 McMahons are getting (and taking Jericho's $ from Jay's article) a media of $300 000 (divided by 4 = $75 000) ? Well, do you know what a CEO do? do you know what a head of new media do? ask the guys here on smarks if being webmaster is a hard or an easy work, and this guy also works with TV, Interviews, toys, etc, and also, do you know how hard is to write 104 main shows, plus PPVs? and also have to deal with injures, because you know, if Austin o shows on Raw, they have to rebooked the show, if Hall is makin fun of the dudleys, they need to rewrite SDown to makin fum of him, if HHH is injured in a match, they need to rebooke not only one show but also maybe a whole angle, same for Benoit, Rhyno, Awesome, Kanyon... Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 30, 2002 IIRC, I read an article about McMahon. I THINK he technically earns $100,000 a year, and then gives himself at least a $900,000 bonus. So in their stock market reports they probably leave out the bonuses and claim that the McMahons don't make THAT much money. (My numbers may be off, but the concept is correct.) Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted March 31, 2002 Vince McMahon's bonus is regulated by his board of directors and I am not sure exactly how it is structured , but I know in 2001 McMahon came up a little short on revenues for the fiscal year and as a result lost a 1 million dollar bonus that he would have earned for meeting the pre-set goal.
