Guest GameCop Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Since MATRIX FEVER is still running high, I would like to talk about the actress who has starred in the last two Matrix films and a forthcoming one entitled The Matrix Revolutions. The actress I'm referring to is Carrie-Anne Moss as stated in the title of this thread. My argument is that she is an overrated actress; she can't properly emote in such a way that I would empathize with her character. For instance, I could care less when her character (****Spoiler Ahead****) in Reloaded was lying in Keanu's arms, struggling to survive a bullet wound. Now, I don't know if my lack of empathy for her character -- Trinity -- can be ascribed to the phlegmatic nature of the character, or, perhaps, Moss' inability to elicit sentiments from moviegoers. I've seen her other films, too -- most notably Red Planet and Memento -- and in those I was unimpressed with her banal presence on screen, albeit to a lesser extent in Memento. I dunno...it's hard to assess... Anyway, I'll rate Carrie-Anne Moss in three different categories for the hell of it: (on a scale of 1-10) Hot Babe Factor: 7 Acting Ability: 6 On-screen presence: 4 (sometimes I barely notice she's in a scene if she isn't talking)
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 28, 2003 She became popular because of the movie she was in. The movie wasn't popular because of her. A lot of women could've been Trinity. I don't think she's over-rated because I don't know anybody that thinks she's any good, just lucky.
Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Yeah, in order for someone to be considered "overrated" they would have to have a somewhat large fan following and Carrie Ann Moss does not, only a few of the films she has been lucky enough to be a part of actually have a "cult" following. When people think of The Matrix or Memento, the first thing that comes to their minds is NOT Carrie Ann Moss.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted May 29, 2003 She was absolutly perfect in Memento, but I haven't really cared for her at all in anything else.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted May 29, 2003 I second her Memento performance, but there really hasn't been a movie that she had to carry, so you can't call her overrated (or underrated, really). Oh, and there are Spoiler (Highlight to Read): spoiler tags now GameCop
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted May 29, 2003 I'm looking over Carrie-Anne Moss's filmography and she was oddly in a t.v. series back in 1993 named "Matrix." Check imdb's write up of it: " Steven Matrix is one of the underworld's foremost hitmen until his luck runs out, and someone puts a contract out on him. Shot in the forehead by a .22 pistol, Matrix "dies" and finds himself in "The City In Between", where he is shown the faces of all the men and women he's murdered and a sea of fire. He's informed that he will being given a second chance. He must earn a reprieve from Hell by helping others. He then wakes up in the hospital, after an apparent "near death" experience. In each episode, Matrix meets a new "guide" from the world beyond, and is given a new assignment, much in the manner of an unwilling guardian angel. Usually his guides give him little or no useful information about the job to come, and his methods of handling the cases are sometimes as brutal as the rules of his old profession, but he gets the job done." Anybody ever seen this show?
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Kareem Abdul Jabbar was in The Matrix TV show playing a blind man, having also played a blind man in Game of Death. I'd fuck Carrie-Ann Moss.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Report post Posted May 29, 2003 I remember watching the Matrix show back in 1993-94 (don't quite remember when). I liked it then but I hardly remember anything about it.
Guest mach7 Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Over rated? Yes! ...and I've seen dogs at the humane society that look better than her.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted May 29, 2003 When people think of The Matrix or Memento, the first thing that comes to their minds is NOT Carrie Ann Moss. "Carrie Ann Moss in leather" is about #3 on my list of "things associated with the Matrix" after "Lobby scene" and "Bullet Time"...
Guest Mole Report post Posted May 29, 2003 She is alright, but hasn't done anything great yet. I didn't really like her character in Memento, I mean: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Didn't she know that Lenny killed Jimmy? For God sake, he was driving his car and wearing his suit. And she was still helping him out. That is the only thing that confuses me about the movie still
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): She knew. She knew right away. She then used him to get herself out of trouble and took great pleasure in doing so as a result of knowing.

Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted May 29, 2003 (edited) Spoiler (Highlight to Read): She knew or at least had an idea. She could never be sure seeing as how her boyfriend didn't tell her he went to meet Leonard, he said he went to meet Teddy. All Natalie knew is that Lenny and Teddy knew each other and that perhaps Teddy used Lenny to do his dirty work like she used Lenny to get rid of Dodd for her. She could put two and two together for herself but it was still an assumption at best. She helped him because even though he may have been responsible for her boyfriend's death she still realized that Lenny's condition was real and that he was being used and probably didn't even know what he had done. She began to feel sorry for him when he started telling her the story about his condition, his wife and his mission to avenge her death. She felt genuinely bad after hearing this which is why she took away the beer that he was drinking that she, Lenny and the old man at the bar had spit in. Oh yeah, and she did make love to Lenny, too. I think her being so vengeful and deceitful while using Lenny was because she was angry that the man that had likely killed her boyfriend was standing in her living room and didn't know he had done it (so she couldn't hold him fully responsible) and that her boyfriend's connections were now threatening her life. I don't think she took any genuine pleasure in using Lenny (except the pleasure of saving her own ass), she only said those things to anger Lenny enough to hit her. Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted May 29, 2003 The fact that all of my friends just call her "Trinity" and not Carrie-Anne Moss will pretty much prove that not many even pay attention to her. She's kind of bland in the Matrix movies if you ask me, but she was more than adequate in Memento.
Guest Ray Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Meh, I'm not really a fan of her. Just doesn't interest me. She was good in Memento though.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2003 I don't even think she's that pretty. I've only seen her in The Matrix and she's way too monotone.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 30, 2003 I don't even think she's that pretty. I've only seen her in The Matrix and she's way too monotone. Does anyone in the Matrix movies convey any emotion at all? I thought the point was to wear shades, black clothes and act like nothing's happening.

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 30, 2003 I liked her back when she was on crappy shows like Models Inc. I think I'm the only person who watched that show. I was shocked when I saw she was gonna be in this big Matrix movie thing. I remember how long ago that show was and I'm thinking, wow, this bitch is old. Guest PORNFAQ Report post Posted May 30, 2003 They didn't fuck. If so, when did it happen? Seeing as how this is Molestomp we're talking about I'm not at all surprised you missed it. It happens right after Lenny confronts her with the polaroid of Dodd. She takes him to the mirror to look at all of his tattoos and then they head to the bedroom. I bet it was prolly good, too. Too bad he wouldn't remember. ...actually, I just had a thought. If he went on TOO long, he might actually forget he was even making love. Can you imagine Natalie riding Lenny and then him suddenly looking up at her going, "Who the fuck are you? What the fuck are you doing?"
Guest GameCop Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Yeah, she isn't exactly a spring chicken; she's almost 36-years-old.
