Mo Vaughn likely to be forced to retire

Recommended Posts

Guest Vern Gagne

He had some good years in Boston but I can't stand Mo Vaughn. The guy's a first class jerk. Going off on a tangent against Troy Pervical before last season, saying he was a winner and Pervical had no right to question is leadership. What made it worse was every other word was fuck this and fuck that.

While Vaughn was hitting .240 for the Mets, the Angels won the World Series. It wasn't a coincidence that it happened after they dumped Vaughn.

Vaughn's been terrible the last couple years, but its always a shame to see a guy forced into retirement. Best of luck to Mo in retirement.

Is Derek Bell and "Operation Shutdown" still around?

Vaughn...Didn't he also get hurt his first season in Anaheim by tripping on the dugout stairs?

The guy is lazy and fat. At least some young guy that wants to play, and who actually runs bases out, will get a spot in the majors.

Behind closed doors the Mets are loving this. They'll get insurance to pay Vaughns salary and they don't have to waste a roster space with his fatass. This also might mean Piazza moves to 1st base either this year or next.

I remember reading a quote in the Boston Globe the year he left the Sox, basically saying that Vaughn was more likely to way 300 pounds than he was to ever being an MVP caliber player again. At the time I thought they were exaggerating.

Well this was one the Sox were right about.

I like Mo and I can't wait till he gets back to Boston and joins "The Big Show" (the afternoon sports show in Boston). He gave the best interview I've ever heard before he got traded to the NYM. He's an opinionnated guy and at this point his defense has gotten so pathetic, he can't run at all because of weight and knee injuries, and he can't hit anymore because of weight. Mo should do what's right for his team and quit.

It ahs to be very hard for him because he was headed for the Hall before he fell down the dugout steps in his first home game with the Angels, it was all down hill from there.

One of the stips that the Sox insisted on when they offered him a contract before he signed with California was that he stay in shape. How'd that work out for the Angels and Mets?

Does Vaughn still have that house in Easton, Mass? AND, how far is that from the Foxy Lady Brockton?

I remember when Mo said he wanted to go to the Blue Jays because of all the ex-Sox that they had in Toronto.

Too bad that never happened...

Should have lost weight, Mo. No matter what the actual cause is, trudging 400 pounds every day isn't good for the knee.
