Anything vs. Steamboat in 1989 (the 2 out of 3 is my all-time favorite match, period). Plus vs. Sting at Clash 1, the series in 1992 with Savage, and the Starrcade 93 match with Vader (for emotion moreso than match quality). Oh, and the I Quit Match with Terry Funk.

 

Honorable mention to the two PPV matches with Luger in 1988.

I remember going into a big rant about this a long time ago, and it seems that alot more people are catching on to the idea that the I Quit match isn't as good as the Bash match. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one anymore.

 

The Bash match had better selling(despite some of Funk's goofiness), better storytelling, and way better transition. Plus, one of the my fav. match endings of all time.

no catching on for me, both matches happened to be on the same comp tape i got from orangegoblin--after the bash match i was like, "hey, that's some good shit" & after the 'i quit' match i was like, "...that was it?" the whole thing is pretty underwhelming to me, especially the ending: flair beats funk's ass for 5 minutes then puts him in the figure 4, and he quits. no tension, no suspense, it was just suddenly OVER. never have heard a good explanation of why that match is so great.
