Guest the 1inch punch Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Popular cartoon cat Garfield will be brought to life in a new movie - with Bill Murray providing the voice for the feline. The Twentieth Century Fox film is based on the comic strip and features cynical Garfield, who must tolerate the indignity of being saddled with a timid owner - played by Breckin Meyer - and a nitwit dog as housemates. Drawn by Jim Davis, Garfield marks his 25th anniversary on June 19, having debuted in 1978. Articles Copyright , World Entertainment News Network. All Rights Reserved. Thank God for that
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 But Breckin Meyer is not funny, is he the same guy from movies Rat Race and Clueless and the tv series About Swartz?
Guest subliminal_animal Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Oh, shut up. You know it is. And BILL F'N MURRAY is doing the voice for Garfield?!?!?! HOLY SHIT HOORAY WAIT I DON'T REALLY CARE TOO MUCH I MEAN CMON A GARFIELD MOVIE WHAT AN AWFUL IDEA!!
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 You know, a good voice actor means nothing. Well, it can make something good better, but it can't make something bad good.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 The dude who does the TSM movie updates on the site noted that they should just get the guy who did it for the cartoon. I agree totally and for the same reason, THAT is Garfield's voice to me, watching this will just have me asking myself "Why is Garfield's voice so fucked up?"
Guest Nanks Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Yes well, given that the person who voiced Garfield in the cartoons is, in fact, dead. That might be somewhat of a tall order.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Bill Murray sounds pretty damn close to the cartoon in my opinion. Have I mentioned what a horrible god awful idea this is?
