Guest Caliban Report post Posted March 26, 2002 So the draft has taken place, and we know the roster for RAW and Smackdown. I have no doubt that these will not be the final rosters, as there are apparently going to be trades made (with McMahon unhappy that Flair has the nWo, this gives them a reason to trade). But, for the purposes of my own enjoyment and you’re reading, I’m going to rate each of the rosters. Tag Teams will be listed together where possible, excepting the nWo. Each superstar will be given two ratings out of 5: one rating based on their talent as I see it, and one rating based on their draw value, again, based on how I see things. This will give a total rating, which will then be added up to give a total score for each roster. RAW Undertaker Talent: 2. Draw Value: 4 ½ . Total:6 ½ Kevin Nash Talent: 1. Draw Value: 4. Total: 5 Scott Hall Talent: 2 ½ . Draw Value: 4. Total: 6 ½ X-Pac Talent: 3. Draw Value: 2. Total: 5 Kane Talent: 3. Draw Value: 3. Total: 6 Rob Van Dam (Intercontinental Champion) Talent: 4 ½. Draw Value: 4 . Total: 8 ½ Booker T Talent: 4. Draw Value: 3. Total: 7 Big Show Talent: 1. Draw Value: 3. Total: 4 Bubba Ray Dudley Talent: 3. Draw Value: 3. Total: 6 Brock Lesnar Talent: 3. Draw Value: 3. Total: 6 William Regal (European Champion) Talent: 3. Draw Value: 3. Total: 6 Lita Talent: 2. Draw Value: 3. Total: 5 Bradshaw Talent: 1 ½ . Draw Value: 2 ½ . Total: 4 Steven Richards Talent: 1 ½ . Draw Value: 1. Total: 2 ½ . The Hardy Boyz Talent: 4 Draw Value: 3 Total: 7 Raven Talent: 3 ½ Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 ½ Mr. Perfect Talent: 3 ½ Draw Value: 1 ½ Total: 5 Spike Dudley Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 D’ Lo Brown Talent: 4 Draw Value: 2 Total: 6 Shawn Stasiak Talent: 3 Draw Value: 1 Total: 4 Terri Talent: 1 Draw Value: 1 Total: 2 Jacqueline Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 Goldust Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 Trish Stratus Talent: 3 Draw Value: 3 Total: 6 Justin Credible Talent: 3 Draw Value: 1 Total: 4 Big Bossman Talent: 1 Draw Value: 1 Total: 2 Tommy Dreamer Talent: 3 Draw Value: 1 ½ Total: 4 ½ Crash Talent: 3 Draw Value: 1 ½ Total: 4 ½ Mighty Molly Talent: 2 Draw Value: 1 Total: 3 Total score for RAW: 146 ½ SmackDown! The Rock Talent: 4 ½ Draw Value: 5 Total: 9 ½ Kurt Angle Talent: 5 Draw Value: 4 Total: 9 Chris Benoit Talent: 5 Draw Value: 3 ½ Total: 8 ½ Hollywood Hulk Hogan Talent: 1 Draw Value: 5 Total: 6 Billy and Chuck (Tag Team Champions) Talent: 2 ½ Draw Value: 3 Total: 5 ½ Edge Talent: 4 ½ Draw Value: 3 ½ Total: 8 Rikishi Talent: 2 Draw Value: 3 Total: 5 D-Von Dudley Talent: 2 ½ Draw Value: 3 Total: 5 ½ Mark Henry Talent: 2 ½ Draw Value: 2 Total: 4 ½ Maven Talent: 2 Draw Value: 3 ½ Total: 5 ½ Billy Kidman Talent: 4 ½ Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 7 Tajiri (Cruiserweight Champion) Talent: 4 ½ Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 7 Chris Jericho Talent: 4 ½ Draw Value: 4 Total: 8 ½ Ivory Talent: 2 Draw Value: 2 Total: 4 Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert Talent: 2 Draw Value: 2 Total: 4 The Hurricane Talent: 3 ½ Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 6 Al Snow Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 5 ½ Lance Storm Talent: 4 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 6 ½ DDP Talent: 3 ½ Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 6 Torrie Wilson Talent: 2 Draw Value: 3 Total: 5 Stacy Keibler Talent: 2 Draw Value: 3 Total: 5 Christian Talent: 4 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 6 ½ Test Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 5 ½ Faarooq Talent: 2 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 4 ½ Tazz Talent: 2 Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 4 ½ Hardcore Holly Talent: 2 ½ Draw Value: 2 ½ Total: 5 The Big Valbowski Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 Perry Saturn Talent: 3 Draw Value: 2 Total: 5 Total Score for SmackDown!: 167 ½ Smackdown has the better roster by my scoring system, 167 ½ points to 146 ½ . That's only a 21 point difference though. If trades are to occur, such as Flair taking Jericho and Benoit for the nWo, then the rosters will be evened out quite nicely. Right now, it seems the RAW roster is based more on drawing power than talent. Also don't forget Austin, who will probably end up on RAW. I'd give him 4 for talent, 5 for drawing power, 9 overall. That helps RAW a lot.
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Seeing as how Storm got a "4" for talent, while Nash got a "1," I'm gonna go ahead and say you didn't factor in charisma and talking ability. Since you seemed to be trying to discern the overall worth, I'd say the exclusion makes your list a little ... "not accurate."
Guest Caliban Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Not really. Storm got a 2 1/2 for draw value. Nash got a 4. Thats because of the charisma, not that Nash is the most charismatic wrestler on the planet.
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I figured "draw value" was a measure of how big they were at the present time. 'Cause Crash Holly has tons of charisma, but he never gets meaningful television time ... so he's not a draw.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted March 26, 2002 It's all just my opinion. I don't think Nash deserves anything more than 1 for talent, he's horrible, but he is a draw.

It appears pretty even to me with RAW's advantage being the nWo and Smackdown's advantage being Hogan and Rock.
Guest Pidgerii-4q2 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I think either way we can agree Vince took the more popular chunk of the roster - Rock, Angle, Benoit, Hogan.
