As bad as the Gang Warz were, as bad as Virgil was, as shitty as Ludvig Borga (spelled right this time) was. Someone is even worse...PAUL ROMA.  Never has someone not named "The Renegade" been such a discrace to the fine sport of Pro Wrestling.

Paul Roma got his start in the WWF as a jobber in 1986, maybe if he stayed there he'd be like Steve Lombardi, you know employed, respected to a degree. But in 1987 Roma and fellow jobber Jim Powers teamed up to form "The Young Stalions". TYS were jobbers from the get go, just now with matching tights and a team name. They jobbed to some of the best wrestlers in the WWF. The Hart Foundation, The Rougeous (s0), The Bolsheviks (okay they jobbed to shitty teams too). So in 1988 they split up and WWF life went on happily.

In mid 1990, "The Doctor of Style" Slick, said he had a great new team, Power and Glory. First was Herculez, a big guy with okay skills, then his partner would have to be someone with talent and charisma, but Shawn Michaels was in The Rockers so it wound up being Paul Roma. Power and Glory beat The Rockers at SummerSlam '90 and injured Michaels' leg. This led to a feud when Mary Jannetty would get cheated in one on one matches with Roma thanks to interference. Michaels came back at Survivor Series '90 and The Rockers, Jake Roberts, and Jimmy Snuka, lost to Rick Martel, Warlord and P&G. Thus the feud ends on a stupid note. It could have been worse though, if the phantom title change took place, The Rockers would have jobbed the titles to P&G.

1991 rolled around and P&G didn't do much, the lost a title match to The Hart Foundation, LOD squashed them at Wrestlemania. They got real tights though instead of the gay Spandex shorts they wore. The last I saw of them was SummerSlam '91 (their 1 year anniversery as a team) and they lost a six man tag in the opening match.

What did Paul Roma do next?  HE BECAME A BOXER! He lost his first fight and then won his first fight a few weeks later, I don't have the dates.

In 1993 Roma must have learned he sucked as a boxer and went back to wrestling, to quote Dennis Leary "I'm wearing a HUGE happy head now". But the WWF didn't need guys like him so he went to a place that hired anyone..WCW! What better way to debut him than as a Horseman! So Roma got to team with AA and feud with the Hollywood Blondes, they won the WCW tag titles in August of 1993 and lost them in September of 1993 and then it happened, Paul Roma's brush of greatness with the IV Horsemen was OVER! Roma got a new partner, Paul Orndorf and since PO was "Mr. Wonderful, PR became "pretty" so what was their name "Pretty Wonderful" how clever. If Taka and Funaki thought Tazz' joke of "Two Fools" was good then they'd have loved this. INDEED!

Pretty Wonderful did the usual heel team in WCW shit. They cheated and won matches exept to top face teams like Sting and friends. They had old Mid Atlantic heel "The Assassin" as their manager who did the loaded mask bit. In July of 1994 they won the tag team titles (I have almost nothing from WCW in 1994, so help me out on what they did). They lost them in Oct to "Stars and Stripes" (Marcus Bagwell and The Patriot" and won them back at Halloween Havoc. They lost them again to Stars and Stripes (I think) and then split up. Paul Roma then had to put over Alex Wright at Superbrawl V and made the kid look bad so he got fired.

As is the case with Virgil and Borga. I haven't seen him since and I don't really care to.

Now that is how you push someone as a WrestleCrap person. Good column. I never even liked Paul Roma except for his P&G days when they actually won matches.

Oh, come on. He wasn't that bad. He had one of the highest dropkicks I have ever seen, he did his share in P&G (who btw had an awesome finisher in the Powerplex) and Pretty Wonderful was a good team. Nothing wrong there. Someone made a huge mistake when he became a Horseman but I wouldn't hold that against him. That's like hating Ronnie Garvin for being given the NWA World title to job it back to Flair at Starrcade'87. They just got lucky on your entertaiments expense. :D

In my humble opinion both Roma and Garvin are among the open doors that people love to kick in for no apparent reason.

I know what appened to Paul Roma... He changed his name to Tom Brandi and returned to the WWF in the fall of 1996 as "Salvatore Sincere"...

In all seriousness, I never thought that Paul Roma was as bad as many people say he is. He was far better than Hercules during his Power & Glory days, in my opinion.
