It's always nice to have your support AoO. And who else would you want me to put on there? Carcass? Entombed? Deicide? Cradle of Filth? There's people on this board who haven't heard of UFO for goodness sakes! Even though it may be a sin include the bands you mentioned with the likes of Sabbath, Motorhead, Maiden and other headbanging gods, but it would be a lot easier to cast votes with them than the ones I mentioned above. Hence, the reason for a 32 band tourny instead of 64.

Yeah, I tried to seed them fairly evenly, so as to produce a real NCAA type effect. Not like PORNFAQ, who pitted Krystal Stealm against Briana Banks... in the first damn round! Why must you torture us so PORNFAQ?

Read the title again. This time, more carefully.

Whitesnake & Bon Jovi, but no Pearl Jam? I can only assume you classified them as an "alternative" band.

I shan't be voting.

Well, adding some bands most folks have never heard might, in some way, somehow, possibly encourage them to download a track or two. Besides, when you get a bunch of people who don't really listen to much metal..and then have a hard rock/metal tournament decided by their votes, are you really getting a winner out of the deal? Just seems like fuzzy logic to me.

Guest benoitrulz4life

It is kind of fuzzy, and I actually was going to include 64 bands with some of said bands included. It was just too hard to narrow the list down to 32 other bands because my hearing of some of those bands material is sparse if at all. So, basically, I just went with what I knew.

And people who are complaining of who made it and who didn't, hard rock is a VERY diverse genre with many different interpretations by many different people. Hell, even certain Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen songs could be considered as hard rock in some circles.

And what's up with Vitamin-X pissing on Thin Lizzy. SOAD is ok, but Thin Lizzy owns them any day of the week!

Ditto.

(I know AoO wasn't referring to that, but I decided to ditto his post either way.)

System of a Down, in my own fuckin opinion, is the best modern hard rock/metal band out there. A band full of guys who are not just musicians, but artists. Need proof? Check out that weirdass album Serj Tanjkian put out with Arto Tanc, an avant garde artist from LA, called SERART.

SoaD owns at least half of the bands you included in this tournament in talent, and definitely owns all those fucking 80's hair bands.

SUGAH~!

Of everyone on this list, I would say Alice Cooper is my favourite. However, I personally don't think he's particularly heavy. Honestly, if he makes the list, I think The Who should be on it, because they're really just equally as heavy.

I never truly cared for Hard Rock/Metal though, so I'm not voting.

I totallly agree with you AoO but i was bored so I voted anyway.

Just for the record, anyone who votes against TOOL is GAY. Unless they are up against Sabbath, and even then I would still pick Tool.
