It depends on what version of Powerpoint you have, what OS you have, and whether or not you already have Office installed.

Don't just download Powerpoint. Download the whole Office XP (it's about 450+ MB). That should help and give you more than just Powerpoint.

But I have a 56k Modem and 450mb is way out of the question. All I need right now is Power Point.

I'm using Windows XP and since I can't get Powerpoint to load I'll go with the file version which says 10.0.2511.1

What is the exact error you are getting?

You might have an cd image that was named wrong. Change the extention from .exe to .iso and try burning it to a cd.

You may have downloaded a Powerpoint upgrade, which can only be added to an existing install of MS Office which lacks Powerpoint, or can replace a previous version of Powerpoint.
