Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 the title pretty much explains it. And a movie that just got out of theatres doesn't count for something that should get put on DVD, yo I think The Hills Have Eyes, If..., Made in Britain, and Orgazmo need to be put on DVD, and that The Prophecy, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Untouchables, The Ring, The Running Man, And Then There Were None, and the first four Friday the 13th movies should have better versions out
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Dawn of the Dead...it's out of print...they need to put it back out as a double disk set. I'd get it the day it comes out. I would like to see a Cool hand Luke SE edition, maybe my favorite movie ever. Also it wouldn't have killed them to put a single extra on the Better Off Dead DVD.
Guest Downhome Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I personally want a huge Box Set release of Titanic with more than 2 discs. I bet they could put all sort of things on a DVD about the movie, and ESPECIALLY about the real events of the Titanic as well. The Garbage Pail Kids!
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Ghostbusters II It's barebones. BAREBONES. It's like none of the cast or crew wants anything to do with the movie.
Guest Downhome Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Ghostbusters II It's barebones. BAREBONES. It's like none of the cast or crew wants anything to do with the movie. Fuck, I think both of them should be released again. Perhaps as some sort of stacked set? Is that commentary on GB1 pretty good? I hear it's done like Myster Science Theater or something.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 oh, I forgot about Dawn of the Dead. I've got one, but it really needs a better version, mine only has the trailer, a commercial for the mall they used and a couple of crappy non-deleted scenes they've got the guys doing commentary for GB1 at the bottom of the screen so they can point things out. I like how they did it in the MIIB disc, with the pens like they use in football games on TV
Guest Downhome Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I like how they did it in the MIIB disc, with the pens like they use in football games on TV How exactly do they work that in a film though?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 By having it recorded onto the DVD, and then it circles and draws an arrow... The commentary on GB1...well, ONE of...is with notes at the bottom. Another one is Harold Ramis, Ivan Reitman, and I believe the SFX supervisor. Reitman and Ramis so rule.
Guest Downhome Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 By having it recorded onto the DVD, and then it circles and draws an arrow... Yes, I know how it's done, I just coldn't see it working for a movie, heh.
Guest newblood03 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 all the friday the 13th movies because they are all abrebone dvd's nuthing but the movie and scene selection
Guest Kingpk Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 The director in the MiB used it to point out things regarding special effects (what was added by computer, for example). As far as movies that need DVD treatment: there was a whole thread on it, so I'll have to say Schindler's List. They could really delve pretty deep into the Holocaust with the extras.
Guest Angle-plex Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Goodfellas. You have to flip the DVD over half-way through the movie. Ugh.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 GoodFellas! THAT's one of the two I forgot. That and The Wild Bunch you've gotta do that for, it sucks
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 all the friday the 13th movies because they are all abrebone dvd's nuthing but the movie and scene selection Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X have decent releases. There is a pretty good Orgazmo dvd to be released eventually. Bottle Rocket needs a better release. Ditto eXistenz. Dead Ringers has a decent Criterion Collection edition but it's out of print, that should be rereleased.
Guest eiker_ir Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 if i'm not mistaken, Dawn of The Dead is gonna be re-released as a 3 disc special edition late next year i think, with various cuts of the movie and a shitload of extras. Day of the Dead will be out as a 2 disc set early 2004
Guest Smues Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Do they have They Might Be Giants on DVD? Yes.
Guest bravesfan Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Office Space. Or at least a new release, with commentary by Mike Judge, and a few actors (Livingston, STEPHEN ROOT~!, David Herman and Diedrich Bader) helping out.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 If we're including animated television shows... Batman: The Animated Series damnit Shock Treatment
Guest kingkamala Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Ed Wood would be great especially with a loaded special edition. Also put out special editions of the first two Batmans and all of the Rocky sequals. A Dolph Lundgren commentar=Priceless.
Guest newblood03 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 "all the friday the 13th movies because they are all abrebone dvd's nuthing but the movie and scene selection" "Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X have decent releases." Sorry for not making it clear i meant Friday the 13th 1-8.... Jason Goes to hell were made by New Line Cinema. The others by paramount. Paramount has them all barebones that they own
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I dn't remember the original Star Wars movies being on DVD yet. I've been waiting on those, and I assume they'll release them once Episode III hits the format.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Office Space. Or at least a new release, with commentary by Mike Judge, and a few actors (Livingston, STEPHEN ROOT~!, David Herman and Diedrich Bader) helping out. I read in Entertainment Weekly that Judge is reluctant to put out a Special Edition DVD of Office Space. I forget why though.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Star Wars will be released when Episode III comes out, but as most of you prolly know, Lucas only wants to release the SE of the three movies and not the original versions. As for Goodfellas, it is getting a re-release sometime in August with a bunch of other classic WB movies. It's a 2-disc SE, if I'm not mistaken.
Guest razazteca Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Need a Critieron edition of Hard Boiled, the one I have has a bad transfer.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Man, Lucas is gonna piss a *ton* of people off if he doesn't release the original OT on DVD. That's why I'm glad I got my "unofficial" original trilogy DVD's.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Dumb and Dumber needs a new version on DVD since the one thats out (which I have) sucks. The Widescreen side (its one of those retarded side 1 widescreen side 2 fullscreen jobs) suffers from the same formating problems that the Back to the Future set had. I watched the VHS and DVD copy in synch and you could tell it. Also, it has no bonus material at all save for a stupid art gallery. LAME! It even has one of those lame cardboard cases that sucks.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Just end those cardboard cases once and for all. The Kingpin dvd has those same formating problems, and an ok commentary but nothing else. I don't know if that movie has enough of a following to warrant another release though.
Guest godthedog Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 'raging bull', 'raging bull' and 'raging bull'. they have a SPECTACULAR loaded laserdisc sitting right there in front of them, and all they have to do is transfer it to dvd format. i don't care if the fucker would take up 4 discs and cost $60, i would buy it up in a second. 'ghost world' needs a better one as well, at least a zwigoff/cloves commentary.
