Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Personally, I'd like to see the champion forced to draw a spot in the Rumble. It wouldn't have to be 1, or 30, and probably shouldn't be either of those. Then you have the drama of a defending champion in the match, where their elimination midway through the Rumble would ideally leave you with a good 15 to 30 minutes of "Somebody else is going to be champ and I don't know who." Of course, ideally, all the Rumbles would be like '92 where you can't pin the win on one guy automatically. Then again, this defending champ change could bring that element back in.
Guest BAR Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I prefer it the old fashioned way. You have to earn your title shot.
Guest Aero Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 I voted for Winner faces Champ at WM. Depending on whether or not WWE decides to screw up the deal by having a match similar to HBK-Owen, Rock-Big Show, or HHH-Angle where the winner goes to WM, this gives WWE a chance to build up their WM main event. Unfortunately, we've barely seen this in the last few years. Angle-Brock got this treatment, and you know how that turned out. I wouldn't mind seeing the WWE Champion having to defend his title in the match once, though. It would be something different. However, I think the Champ would have to draw somewhere from #1-20 at least to draw some intrigue.
