Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted June 1, 2003 (edited) How long would Goldburg have held the belt had Bookerman Nash and Hogan not played politics? He was the top draw and the fans were RABID for him. He had fresh challengers in Ric Flair, Bigelow, Hall, and rematches with Page, Hogan, Nash.... so that alone makes another 6 months at least.... Throw in a tag match or two...and GoldBurg can Headline until the Fall..where Savage, Sid, Bret Hart await....not to mention Sting... by 2000 he can focus on Jarrett, Scott Steiner, Booker T,Vampiro and Mike Awesome... What do you all think? Edited June 1, 2003 by tank_abbott
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Report post Posted June 1, 2003 If they could have kept the momentum going, possibly til Starrcade 99. Alas, we shall never know...
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I agree he would have kept it until about Starrcade 99. After that he would have either A. Lost steam or B. Ran out of legit challengers.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Well if he could've made it to late 99 as champ, then Beniot can be added to the list as well.... plus endless 3 and 4 way matches...
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Hogan was the one who decided to lose the title to Goldberg, he wasn't behind taking it off him, that was Nash and Nash only. I have NO idea what the hell was with the finger poke of doom, but I can safely say the fault is on Nash's hands. Goldberg SUCKED anyway, so I was glad he lost. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Goldberg could've gone A LONG way if Nash wasn't HELL BENT on screwing Goldberg as HARD as he could... I'm not saying the undefeated streak should've lasted that long but he was pretty much KILLED by Nash...
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 1, 2003 The days of the long term champion is over and there is just so much Goldberg can do in the ring and on the mic to build different angles and storylines. If he jobs Nash, then where do you go from there? I think his steam would have ran out sooner rather than later.

hitman2003 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2003 IIRC...Hogan didn't "decide" to drop the title to Goldberg. From what I remember Hogan agreed to drop the belt to Goldberg. In return, Hogan was gonna be the man to end Goldberg's winning streak at Starrcade. But then the Hogan-Warrior match at Havoc was such a disaster that Hogan & Bischoff decided that it might be best if Hogan took some time off from wrestling. I could by wrong, but this is what I heard.

Hogan and Nash's backstage political games ended with the FPOD. That was the compromise to make peace with all parties. I still remember watching that Nitro, and being disgusted (in a good way...with Hogan/Nash NWO) Now I wanted to see Goldburg get back at Nash/Hogan worse than ever... too bad it was botched so badly! Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 2, 2003 Damn it Hogan, how could you?.....Eh...I still cheer for you anyway. Wasn't Goldberg a heatless heel when he first debuted in WCW?
