Ok, I just found a whole box of my older WWF & WCW videos, and I decided it would be fun to watch them all again, so I'll be proviving rants on most of them.

-BTW, for these tapes, I'll be using the point system, but I'll also give the matches indivivual star ratings.

Tape #1- WWF Greatest Matches.

This is a 45 min tape from from 1986, hosted by Vinnie Mac.

Match #1 Hulk Hogan v "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff- WWF title match.

-This is from 1985, before Orndorff's 1st face turn. JIP with Hogan dominating to start. Gorilla & Jesse are announcing this BTW. I'm not sure where this is, but the arena has one of those ramps connecting to the ring a la WCW 90-93. Hogan still dominating, so Orndorff stalls. "Hogan" chants are overdubbed, which sounds pretty funny, if you look at the silent crowd. Orndorff comes back with a knee and a few elbow drops. Hogan gets tossed, and Orndorff throws him into the outside railing a few times. Back into the ring as Orndorff gets a suplex & knee drop for 2. Hogan gets the comeback, but Orndorff rolls out of the way of an elbow. Orndorf goes for a crossbody, but Hogan rolls through for the win.**1/2 This was pretty good, but not great 1 for 1.

Match #2 Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth v Tito Santana: IC Title match.

Lock up to start & Savage stalls. Santana into a head sisscors. Savage stalls some more, then gets a thumb to the eye. Savage misses the double axe-handle & Tito slams him. Crowd is super hot for this one. Sanatana gets an atomic drop. Savage with an eye rake. Savage dominates for a while, with a series of 2 counts. Savage tosses Santana, and hits the double axe-handle to the outside. Tito gets a comeback & hita the Flying Jalepino for 2. Savage reverses something for 2. Danny Davis gets bumped. Santana gets a small package, but no ref. Davis is up. Savage misses a kneedrop, to put Snatana in control. Santana gets ther figure-four and the crowd nearly shits themselves. Savage breaks & goes into his tights to get a pair of brass knucks, he hits Santana with them, for the pin and the title. ***1/2, good match, but the finish was a little too overbooked for me. 2 for 2.

Match #3 Bob Backlund w/ Arnold Skaaland v. Ths Iron Sheik w/ Freddie Blassie, for the WWF title.

I've never seen this one before. Sheik attacks Backlund & works on the neck to start. Sheik works on the arm long time. CLIP. And Sheik is STILL working on the damned arm, oh well, good psychologly, I guess, just that when the Iron Sheik is involved, psychology doesn't really look all that good. CLIP & Sheik is working on both arms now. Bridge spot, & Backlund goes for a backslide put his arm gives out. Backlund reverses a suplex and gets a roll-up for 2. Sheik puts him in the Camel Clutch, & Backlunds manager Arnold Skaaland throws in the towel to give the Iron Sheik the title. Of course this match would change the landscape of the WWF forever, as the Sheik jobbed the title to Hogan, and, well, you know the rest. 1/2*, but 3 for 3 for historical value only.

Match #4 The Dream Team v. Hillbilly Jim & Uncle Elmer

Oh Fuck! It's hilbillies, just what I need. And to make matters worse, Alfred Hayes is announcing with Gorilla. They do some basic start & Jim tags in Fatass Elmer. Godammit, I hate fucking Hilbillies! Heels get the advantage and we play stomp the celluolite for a while. Hot tag to Hilbilly Jim & he gets the bearhug, but Valentine breaks, which allows Jim to tag The big fat Fuck, who hits a Big Fat Fuck Legdrop for 2. Brawl errupts & Elmer gets nailed with the megaphone for the Dream Team Win. DUD. Complete & Utter shit 3 for 4.

Well It's 3 for 4 technecly, but it's not all that great. And it contains Hilbillies, so I can't really recommend it in good consience. Take a pass.

Tape #2 Best Of The WWF, Volume 17.

From 1988, and hosted by Gene Okerland.

Match #1 Dino Bravo v Ken Patera

Godamn, I hate Dino Bravo matches. Frenchy Martin says something in French before the match. Bravo dominates to start, but Patera gets some shitty offense in. These guys both lick big hairy ballsacks at this point. Patera misses the shitty charge & hits the post. Why the hell did the WWF run so damn many Bravo/Patera matches in 1988? Frenchy Martin distracts Patera, and Bravo gets the SIDEWALK SLAM! THAT WAS THE GREATEST SIDEWALK SLAM IN THE HISTORY OF SIDEWALK SLAMS! Sorry, Tony Shiavone Syndrome. DUD. Shitty match 0 for 1

-Match #2 Big Bossman w/Big Sweaty Pits & Big Manly Tits v. Sam Huston

Bossaman was still pretty new here, and he still has the Beer gut that time forgot. Stalling to start, & this turns into a Bossman squash pretty quickly. Huston gets a sleeper, but Bossman tosses him. Huston goes for a sunset flip but Bossman uses the Fat Ass Of Deadly Death for a counter. Huston gets some of his offense, including a missle dropkick. Bossman gets a Bossman Slam for the win, however, and beats on Huston after the bell. *. Nothing special, it was an early Bossman match. 0 for 2.

King Haku Coronation. Harley Race retired, so Bobby Heenan named Haku the new king. This was pretty boring, and a bit too long. 0 for 2, I won't include the non-wrestling segments in the overall points.

Mean Gene hits on some old lady, in a Wrestlecrap-ish segment.

-Match #3 The Bolsheviks v The British Bulldogs.

The future ECW fans in Philly are chanting "Volkoff Sucks", "USA", "You both Suck", and "Russia Sucks". DBS works on Zhukovs arm to start. Bulldogs dominate for a couple of minutes, but Old Wrinkley Volkoff clotheslines Dynamite for the pin. DUD. I wish they'd found a better Bulldogs match for this tape. 0 for 3

-Match #4 The Rockers v. The Rougeau Brothers.

Jacques dominates Shawn to start. Tag to Marty, and he works on Jacques. Janetty gets caught in the corner & plays Ricky Morton. Raymond holds Marty in an abdominal strtech. Nice atomic drop/splach from the Rougeaus. Hot tag to Shawn & he hits a nice dropkick & a flying fistdrop. Shawn goes to the top, but Raymond pushes him off the top & Jacques gets the pin. ***. Good match. The Bulldogs run in to plead the Rockers case, & they chase off the Rougeaus. 1 for 4

-Match #5 Honky Tonk Man v Brutis Beefcake- IC Title

HTM has Jimmy Hart in Drag, as Peggy Sue, and Beefcake has George Steele in drag, as "Georgia". Just kill me now please. Steele has a doll in drag along with him. Alfred Hayes & Sean Mooney are announcing, which annoys me further. Ugh, this turns into a horribly unfunny comedy match. The end result is Honky getting hooked into a sleeper by Beefcake, and the mannagers get involved, allowing HTM to nail Beefcake with the Megaphone, for the pin. Shitty attempt at a comedy match. Oh good lord Jimmy Hart is wearing a bra, if there was still a WrestleCrap, I'd reccomend this. DUD. 1 for 5.

-Match #6 Demolition v Strike Force

Rematch from WM IV. Wonderful, we get to hear Girls In Cars again. Demolitions kickass theme makes up for it, however. Demos are still heels here, but are getting pretty good face heat. Ax beats on Santana to start. Strike Force gets their double team stuff, & Santana works on Ax's arm. Ax tags to Smash, and Martel tags in Santana Demos beat on Santana for a while. Hot tag to Martel, and he cleans house. Crab on Ax, but Smash throws Martel out, and gives him a shitkicking on the floor, thus injuring him untill WMV. They do the decapitation to the outside on Martel, And get the pin on Santana. Cool-Looking match ***. 2 for 6. Martel is carried out on a strecher.

Lumberjack Match: Hacksaw Jim Duggan v Andre The Giant

Well this looks to really suck, as Andre is deteriorated by this point, and Duggan just plain sucks. I hate most Lumberjack matches also. Punching, heatbutts, lumberjack spots, repeat. Oooh, a Resthold, that will liven up this match. Oh well, at least it's not a bearhug, the worst move ever. Andre gets tied up in the ropes, and Duggan bites him. Andre gets loose and takes off a turnbuckle pad. Duggan gets the 3-Point charge. Duggan hits Andre with the 2x4. Andre gets out of the ring, & beats up the lumberjacks who try to put him back in. Andre goes back in and rams duggans head into the exposed turnbuckle, and drops an elbow for the pin. 1/4*. Not a good match 2 for 7 The lumberjacks storm the ring, and a brawl errupts untill Duggan clears the ring with the 2x4.

- Besides the Demolition/Strike Force match, this tape sucks. Don't bother unless you've never seen that match before. There are better Old School WWF tapes out there.
