Guest two_tuff_toddy Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 "It'll be Vince McMahon." If not him it could be his son. After all Shane is the master of the guest referee appearance.
Guest Coffey Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Yeah, but Shane isn't a "sick sumbitch." Well, maybe if they play up his big bumps from his KotR match w/ Angle and skydive bumps... Damn.
Bored Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Wait wait so is the ref of HitC also the driver of the Hummer?
Guest Ray Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 What's all this about TERRY FUNK?? What would possibly make you think it's him?? I don't get that at all.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 What's all this about TERRY FUNK?? What would possibly make you think it's him?? I don't get that at all. When fans hear "Hell In A Cell" they AUTOMATICALLY think "Mick Foley." It's just the logical choice. Crazy son of bitch + HIAC = Foley. The PPV is in Texas...and Funk was crazy as well. That's where the Funk Talk comes from.
Guest Ray Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 The PPV is in Texas...and Funk was crazy as well. That's where the Funk Talk comes from. Blah. What makes you think WWE would bring him in because he's from Texas? Seems like a silly conclusion to jump to.

Guest KJ Brackish Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I hate to say it, but I think that its Foley. As much as I DON'T like the guy, I'll be glad to see him again. I just don't think Funk would be the ref for that, just because he's Texan. IMO
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I think it will either be Funk, Foley, Austin himself.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 It needn't be anyone not already involved in this angle. They dropped the ball on this one, and this is how I would have done it from last weeks RAW (coming into it with the momentum of Falir v HHH). The open as they did, with HBK and Flair mutual admiration society, setting up a potential face vs. face match at Badd Blood. They continue to tease a further split between Falir and HHH throughout the RAW, and leave RAW with HHH pinning Flair in the handicap match after a cheapshot (which JR implies means whatever relationship they have is over, even though the wrestlers do not say it themselves.) This week on RAW, because Austin does not like HHH, he says the Special Guest Ref will be the winner of HBK - Flair. Thus, fans think Nash has even more of a chance due to HBK/HHH history and Flair apprantley breaking up with HHH. HBK wins the match at the PPV, and goes onto Ref the main event. But during the match, HBK gets taken out of the match, and HHH beats on Nash. Flair comes down in a Ref's top (sent by Austin) and ends up reffing fairly until the end where he screws Nash. HHH retains. Its not complicated, but makes sense (even may be obvious to some as they read it)...BUT...it makes more sense for ongoing TV. It keeps the title on HHH for Goldberg. It gives Nash an incentive to go after Flair and Evolution and hence a logical excuse for him to stop going after the title. Allows Commish Austin v HHH to take place (Austin looked silly with the screwjob) with Austin putting Goldberg in HHH's face. Oh well. It may well be Foley.
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 It's not as though they actually care that much about keeping the "brands" separate even if this a Raw exclusive PPV, so it could be the Undertaker. - He's from Texas as well. - He could be considered "crazy enough to do it", or whatever it is that Austin said exactly. - He's also quite well known for Hell in a Cell.
Guest snuffbox Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 'Superfued' for the heavyweight championship in a hell in the cell main event... and the wwe needs a special guest referee to draw interest..... what an AWA scenario
Guest Choken One Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 If they don't announce it on Raw...It's Funk... Otherwise they will tell to pop the buyrates up about .0000004
Guest El Satanico Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Flair being so involved lately is another reason why Funk being the ref makes sense. If they play off Flair's history it could also be...Dusty!
Guest Choken One Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 they did the dusty/flair nostalgia angle in wcw...that won't stop them there... If wwe is willing they could remind us that nash retired Funk in 2000 (I WAS THERE!)...
Guest nikowwf Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Foley retired from wrestling, he never said I RETIRE FROM MAKING ANY APPEARANCES WHERE I WOULD NOT BE WRESTLING. He's not going against anything he said by returning. You could debate the merits of it all you want, but he didn't say he would never come back. The time he said he was retired and didn't was way back at the last mania he was in. niko
Guest notJames Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Either way, I'd prefer Foley stayed away for now. That way I can remember him for all the greatness he was involved in, and not the steaming pile of shit he would be jumping face first into.
Guest snuffbox Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 El Satanico....I must say, I love the Leatherface pic!
