Which one? The Rampage video is worth it, and the sefo video probably is cause it's K-1 and they have really, really, really, *really*, sick knock-outs in K-1.

*blah*

Me begining to think I'm not a MMA fan at all, other than the video games. I'm going to give it one more shot by watching a few DVDs, but after that if I'm not convinced that this stuff is the next big thing, then count me out.

The video was 3 minutes of Jackson knocking out opponets and slamming Sakurba several times trying to get out of the Armbar~. Great use of music by POD. Decent interview/promo at the end.

I want to see pics of Jackson with the jeri curl!

So did Jackson get "discovered" by fighting in King of the Cage?

FX or Fox Sports Net needs to bring back MMA to cable tv!!!!!!!!11111 Hell they have Tito Ortiz or Ken Shamrock as regular guests on the Best Damn Sports Show, make it a regular show of nothing but MMA fights!.

Yeah, Jackson discovered in KOTC. His fight with Marvin Eastman raised some eyebrows.

I don't understand how MMA can not be on TV. I see all these pseudo-sports on all the time - golf, nascar, baseball (c'mon), figure skating, etc - and MMA dwarfs all that in every catagory (which would be *skill* *athleticism* *competitive attributes*). The problem is it's either a)not known or b)is seen as human cockfighting due to the early UFC image - or it's both (I went into a blockbuster the other day and asked if they were selling any of their ufcs - the guy looked at me and said "what?", I almost gave him a flying knee)

UFC only has the UFC Hits collection for sell, right? They are way slow on selling videos at stores, PRIDE FC is sold at Suncoast and Sam Goody :headbang:

I guess the reason MMA is not on tv is because K-1 fights and kickboxing on ESPN is not a big draw. Also the human cockfighting image has scared the networks.

You need to make a One and Only MMA suggestion thread and get it posted at the top of the folder since "what should I get" threads pop up alot recently.

There's K-1 fights on ESPN?

Shit, on TSN all we have is crappy amateur muay thai, and on the Xtreme Channel crappy but legitimate muay thai (fucking bastards never knocking eachother out!)

Hmm, that there is a good idea raza.

I bought one Pride DVD but it was like $40 and I happened to not pick the really good ones (I get Carlos Newton in a minute long match and the Crappy Vitor in a crappy draw). The special features aren't too great either (man, would i ever like to have fighter commentary!).

The Rey Sefo video is nothing compared to the Peter Aerts video on Sherdog. But then again, I like high kicks more than punches. Nice combos though. The production wasn't anywhere near the production on the Rampage Vid though.

What are you talking about? We get good shit on TSN.

Once a week there is at least a UFC show on. I think they showed one of the Couture v. Rizzo fights, Pulver v. Uno and Tanner v. Ortiz. All are parts of 1/2 hour shows but the matches are in their entirety.

Also sometimes they show UCC. Sometimes it's crap but one time I believe they showed Pulver v. Duane Ludwig.

I meant in regards to kickboxing BWG - and even then, UFC is on at midnight... they give better hours to gymnatstics and fucking bodybuilding.

Gotcha. And yes, it would be nice if either UCC or UFC had a regular schedule.

I was TOOOOOTALLY diggin the Shonie Carter vs. Matt Serra match last Saturday - I saw it once before and said "man, this is good", but this time I was like "GOOD LORD this is good!".

UCC is going under renovations, so it should be interesting to see what happens to them in the future. I fuckin want Ontario (hell, CANADA) to sanction this shit NOW, I believe the only two prov. that allow it are Quebec and Alberta. I wanna write a letter or something but I don't even know who to write to!

The K-1 fights that I have seen late nights on ESPN2 has been in my opinion bad ones without the big names like Sapp or Hugg or Yvel it is more of the "main event" of regional qualifier fights for North American championships of Las Vegas tournys. I have spoken about this before and made comments like "Sober Tough Man" competition. I was not happy with it I am sure the best K-1 fights happen in Japan. To me K-1 seems to take MMA fighters put gloves on them and let them go wild, now this might be entertaining to you but to me these fighters do not have much skill in boxing or know the difference from a uppercut to a jab. I just do not like what ESPN has shown me.

And the ISKA kickboxing is not much better in quality as the rules are not true Muay Thai, which I prefer. But of course the fights that are shown are years late from the late 90s with questionable fighters. I have seen better boxing on the Spanish channels quality wise compared to kickboxing of ESPN networks.

I find it disappointing that the best boxing is only on preminum cable like Showtime or HBO on the weekends. I noticed that NBC tried to bring back boxing on the weekend by taking what was the Telemundo boxing show and put it on the big network but it lasted a mere few weeks.

As for Gymnastics and Miss Fitness on ESPN, well sex sells.
