I just finished downloading, and listening to (as good as I fucking good anyway) all of her songs off of her new album titled 0304. To anyone who thinks that Intuition was simply a parody, then f'n think again. This album is the ass-raped result of her music, yes it is. She's said she did this one because she was tired of doing music as she WAS doing, and that this time she just wanted to be happy and dance. Well screw this, I'm going to vomit. As I posted before, just look at the damn titles to her songs on her album. Keep in mind, THIS is how they are actually listed on her album...

1. 2 Become 1

2. America

3. Becoming

4. Doin' Fine

5. Fragile Heart

6. Haunted

7. Intuition

8. Leave The Lights On

9. Run 2 U

10. Stand

11. Sweet Temptation

12. To Find You

13. U & Me = Love

14. Yes U Can

...I am ill, I've been a fan of her music for too long to see it come to this. There are hardly any songs on this album are truly deep like much of her past music, or at least sound great. Paint me dissapointed, ugh.

I hope this fails horribly, I really do.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

Jeez man, wake up and smell reality, Jewel's music has always been awful. I have never seen the appeal of her or her music. Perhaps it's because I'm not into that laid back country shit or whatever she's playin', but I have always carried a silent disdain for her music. Her voice is annoying, lyrics are asinine, actual music mediocre, and overall package quite flat. People always praised her ability to make up songs as she went along and then I'd think, "Yeah, that's exactly what this song sounds like; something that's being made up as she goes along." So while you may be only now realizing the suckage that is Jewel's music, I was at that stage in 1996.

Hey, I just happened to love her work from the past and I'm quite pissed that she seems to want to just TOTALLY change it. I can see how many do not like her though, so it's cool.

While I think that it's important to stick to your roots, there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying something new or evolving. If a music act doesn't do that, they tend to grow stale. It gets a bit annoying to see a band change things up a little bit and then have a ton of so-called fans jump their bones about supposedly "selling out." In the music world, it would seem that expanding your horizons and letting your music evolve is selling out.

It's one thing to evolve and expand on your work, many artists and bands do that over the years and it's great. It's another thing to totally do a 180 overnight basicly and freaking out all of your "true" fans that were with you from the begining. I'm all for evolution (yes, even the wrestling group, heh), but this isn't evolution what she's done.

That was before I had heard her new album, etc..., and that thread was basicly just about the video and the such. I now have totall confirmation on everything, heh.

She changed her style to try get some new fans. I think it's cool that she's not doing the same old same old.

I'm sorry you don't like it DH. But you should at least congratulate her on TRYING something different rather then trying to write faux poetry

And she should do more videos like Intution. Oh and she needs to get her teeth fixed.

You don't understand, I am all for her trying to get more exposure and everything such as that. That's the goal of most artists out there, obviously. I just don't like how she did it, so quickly. It irritates me when ANYONE just ups and totally changes their look, music, and everything like that. It should be an evolution over a numbr of months/years in order to keep her old fans, while SLOWLY building her core audiance of new fans.

I mean, this is just overboard for her. It's like she's just forgetting about her past totally and trying to completly start over.

It reminds me of the Chris Gaines incident slightly, heh.

"GET ME A SODA, BITCH!"

- Tracy Morgan to Lorne Michaels, SNL

That was the best thing Chris Gaines was EVER involved in.

I think Jewel got tired of doing the folk music stuff- remember- her last album (the one with Hands) did not sell as well as the one that made a lot of money.

I think she's trying to test the waters and see if this style will be more successful and bring her more fans.

Post-9/11 patriotic anthem, statement of derision for the current administration, or Simon & Garfunkle cover? I demand to know!

The appeal?

She's got bit tits, and she's really quite hot. I even love her snaggletooth.

Holy CHRIST, that was the most retarded thing in music I've ever seen.

I'm not really a Garth Brooks fan, but my mom likes country music (her being Southern and all), so I've listened to my fair share of it over the years - Brooks included. That Gaines album was just......god, as vanity projects go, it was just ridiculous.

But I wasn't disturbed by it - UNTIL I saw the VH1 "Behind the Music" episode exclusively on Chris Gaines.

That left me with very uncomfortable. You want to record a pop album, Garth, fine - you create an entire hourlong fictional life story to this bizarre character of yours - too freaky for me.

Ultimately, it's HER music, and she can take it in any direction she chooses. Fans are free to continue to buy the album or move along in the hopes that new fans will take their place. Since you only downloaded the album, DH, I honestly doubt Jewel really gives a shit what you think about it. I can't say I've ever been a fan of her music, so I don't really care what it sounds like. She's still quite easy on the eyes, so it's all good there.

Think of bands who never changed and never evolved, like the Scorpions. They were OK and all, but every album sounded just like the one that came before it. It just wasn't worth buying their stuff anymore. Jewel is at least trying to change and evolve her style. I'll give her props for that, even though I'm indifferent to the results.

She should care, because I only downloaded HER album because I saw what the titles looked like. This will be the first thing she's EVER released that I do not own, and that ills me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I saw the "intuition" video at work yesterday and I was too busy staring at her cleavage to be angry with anything else about her music. I have never been a "jewel fan" but I never found her music repulsive or anything, just maybe it was something that I could listen to, but wouldn't buy.

I'm going to assume that you mean "big" tits, but even at that, I don't really think they're anything special. They're a nice size, but in no way are they big. Besides, whether she's hot or not is really not important to me when it comes to the music. It's really iritating to see people going crazy for a musician based on how hot they are or whatever. Who gives a damn if she's got a pretty face if her CD's make for a better coaster than they do musical entertainment? You could stem this to women in wrestling, too. They're nice to look at and all, but if I really wanna see hot women, I'll watch porn. If I'm watching wrestling, I wanna see some wrestling and if I'm listening to music, I want some good music, not some piece of hot ass that happens to have a record deal and fan following because of that fact.

I've always kinda hated Jewel. Now that she sounds like a Shakira/Pink knock-off, I can at least dance to her at parties.

I hope she has lots of weird duets with people like Biz Markie on the album. That'd make it perfect.

This change reminds me a lot of what No Doubt recently put out. Album sales go down, so they get the pop engine rolling. I'm not a fan, but they get used toa certain lifestyle and the teenage girls pay the bills.

Meh, Jewel's always sounded like a cat in a blender to me.

What's with the ultra hip "internet way of spelling" for her song titles? Too much use of the "word" "U" ...and "2 Become 1?" Is she covering the Spice Girls now? Scary shit, man.

I can forgive Prince for spelling that way, but anyone else that does it is an idiot.

And for the record, Prince does have a song called America. Pretty good song.
