Guest Matt Young Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 I just started smoking a couple months ago when I was going through a highly stressful ordeal with Mandy. I'd smoke with her on occasion. She always had Marlboro Ultra Light 100's (and for future reference, I always smoke 100's no matter what brand). My friend Ed introduced me to Marlboro Reds, and my first few packs were of that variety. Ever since I first tried Newports back in April, however, I have been smoking those. In fact, I am doing so as I type this.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Used to smoke Marlboro then Marlboro lights, then switched to Newports before quitting two months ago. Though I did dabble with Belmont cigs for awhile (which are fucking terrible and do not recommend them at all).
Guest cynicalprofit Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Free. Ive paid for a totaly of maybe 2 packs my whole life, and 3 packs of cloves. I dont smoke enough to warrant buying packs.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Marlboro reds. They're damn fine cigarettes.

Guest JAxlMorrison Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Marlboro Menthol Lights I was thinking recently of switching to Marlboro Reds though, don't know why. Actually a few minutes ago I just smoked my frist cigarette in two days. I usually don't smoke unless I am walking somewhere or if I am in a bar.
Guest Heavy As Hell Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Number 7 blue tobacco rolled into a zig zag blue paper. Those shits will put hair on the chest of an uninitiated smoker.
Guest DrTom Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 I almost never smoke, since I find the habit to be filthy, disgusting, and often practiced by people with low self-esteem. However, on the rare occasions I do light one up, I enjoy cloves and mild cigars. Regular cigarettes are far too vile. I think I had three cigars and about twice that many cloves last year, to give you an idea of how often I do this.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Oi. Stuff your lame anti-cigarette rants in your shorts and skedaddle. Six cloves a year? You had three in one day out of MY pack the last time I saw you, buddy.
Guest Mole Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 often practiced by people with low self-esteem That is the worst sterotype ever and one of the few bullshit things I've heard you say. I know plenty of people who smoke who don't have low self-esteem and plenty of people who don't smoke who have low self-esteem.

I know plenty of people who smoke who don't have low self-esteem and plenty of people who don't smoke who have low self-esteem. I always figured it was an addiction mainly catered to people who have a lot of issues with anxiety and stress. Aswell as those of use who are too chickenshit to do real drugs.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 As well as those of use who are too chickenshit to do real drugs. Is that a bad thing? A nicotine addiction is one thing, but I'd prefer that over being a crack fiend. But maybe that's just me.

Most of the people I know who smoke do drugs.
Guest DrTom Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Six cloves a year? You had three in one day out of MY pack the last time I saw you, buddy. It was two, I'll have you know. One before the bookstore, and one after the Italian dinner. Those are the only two I've had this year. I was gifted with about ten cigars a few months ago, and I still have all ten. I have to be in the mood to have a cigar before I light one up. Cloves are usually a matter of availability; since they're not legal to sell in MD, I have to bum them from people who bought them in another state.
Guest DrTom Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 That is the worst sterotype ever and one of the few bullshit things I've heard you say. Many people start smoking because they others doing it, and they want to "fit in" and "look cool." That's a self-esteem problem. Sure, some people start up for other reasons, but how many started by giving in to peer pressure in high school? Why do you think the tobacco companies have come under such fire for marketing to minors?
Guest Cancer Marney Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 It was two, I'll have you know. One before the bookstore, and one after the Italian dinner. Huh. I thought you smoked another one while we were getting drunk on tequila and vodka and watching Eddie Izzard. I still think fondly of that Italian place... that was a great veal marsala, a better ricotta, and I love mozzarella sticks. Their pasta is what really rocks, though. Cloves are usually a matter of availability; since they're not legal to sell in MD, I have to bum them from people who bought them in another state. What? Why are they illegal in MD? I've never heard of such a thing.
Guest BigPoppaKev Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 I go with the Marlboro Reds. Sometimes I will smoke a pack of Kool sometimes but mostly Marlboro Reds.

Why do you think the tobacco companies have come under such fire for marketing to minors? If you want to get technical, everyone has low self-esteem in one way or another. I started smoking because my ex girlfriend smoked cloves, and I've always wanted to try one. I smoked them, then I just switched over to cigarettes. No peer pressure involved, I just wanted to try it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Whatever I can get is what I smoke. I usually smoke Newport Lights, which is all I can snag out of my mother since that's all she smokes, but when out with friends, I smoke what they smoke, the grandest cigs of all: Marlboro Reds. EDIT: And I started smoking after my friend Jeff died to help cope with the stress. I didn't smoke to "fit in," and I've never really done much to "fit in." And yes, Mole, me too. Most of the people I know that smoke butts do harder drugs too.
Guest Dangerous A Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Started with Marlboro Reds, then switched to Marlboro Lights. Money got tight and switched to GPC, which is the equivalent of smoking rat poison. Someone introduced me to Menthol's and I got on Newports. Newports started harshing me and now I've switched to Marlboro Menthol Milds (current cigarette)
Guest HBK16 Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 When I smoked I smoked Malboro Reds. But I quit.
Guest BANKYWOOD Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Cigarettes are everything Tom described them as. The difference between him and I? I don't smoke under any circumstances. Shits dusgusting and fucking pricey. I need to save my money for my hooker addiction.
Guest Mole Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I wish I didn't smoke, one of the three biggest mistakes of my life.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I don't regret it at all. *hack, cough, wheeze* I can quit any time I want to.
Guest HBK16 Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Hey IDRM, whos that in your avatar. It looks so much like my friend its scary.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 That's Popick. It was originally Dames, but that's what happens when you pick on a mod.
