Silent hill 2 inquiry

I plan on getting a Playstation2 and Silent Hill 2 in the near future, but I have a few questions.

 

1) How long did it take you to beat the first time through? No walkthroughs.

 

2) Is it as scary, scarier, or less scary than the first game?

 

3) (ok, tiny spoiler) Is there any mention at all of a prophecy? The moment words like "Prophecy, Gyromancy, Samael" and all came out in Silent Hill is the moment the story went sour for me.

 

4) I've downloaded a bunch of tracks from the Soundtrack, and I'm wondering - does any of the music (not banging and scraping sounds, I mean MUSIC) play during the game? Like in Lisa's death scene in the first game?

1) Uhhhh somewhere between eight, and ten hours.

 

2) By far.  Creepiest game I've played.. Except for the first time I played the first Resident Evil, since well it was groundbreakingly creepy at the time.

 

3) Not as much as the first game, and the extent depends on which ending you get as there are several endings.

 

4) Hardly

 

 

I'd rent it rather than buy as it's short kinda, unless you want to get all the endings.  I really enjoyed the game though, kinda depressing though no matter which ending..
