This supposed to be probably biggest rap tour since "Up in Smoke" tour and it might be better than that. The rappers that are touring:

50 Cent

Jay-z

Snoop Dogg

Fabolous

Sean Paul

Busta Rhymes- I think he's only touring in a few areas

I think its going a huge turnout. I wouldn't mind going, too bad the tickets sold out in my area. I don't know if I want to see 50 live I heard he sucks live, and I want the 93' Snoop instead of today's Snoop. Other than those two it should be a solid tour. Anybody going? and Any thoughts?

Fabolous and Sean Paul are both horrid, but besides that, it looks decent enough. Especially Snoop and Busta, both of whom I've really wanted to catch for a while.

I've seen all of them live before (except Sean Paul) and I can say the ALL suck live except for Busta Rhymes. I wouldn't go see it unless I am in a Busta city. Besides that...hells naw.

To make this tour really good I would get rid of Fabolous and put in Eminem and put in DMX in Sean Paul's place :headbang:

50 Cent/Fabulous came to my area three weeks ago( I didn't go but I almost did). 50 Cent was only up their for about 35-40 minutes and I heard he really sucked. I didn't hear anything about Fabulous except for "That he was soooo hot" and that was from some sluts. Personally I wouldn't go, I've only seen one rapper live and that was the rapper in SoulDecision and he got winded thirty seconds into the first song.

EDIT: Whenever I see rappers live on TV as a whole they always seem to get winded and out of breath really easily. Also 90% of Rap isn't my cup of tea.

I'm curious... how does a rap concert go? and how are the performances any different than the cds?

The tour looks good, but the problem is that:

50 Cent gets drowned by the Hype Men. See the Movie Awards last night for a good example.

Sean Paul only has two real hits, so won't get much mic time.

Snoop is great but needs dre to do some of his greatest songs.

Busta is great and I saw him once and he fucking owns. But Flipmode might not be with him except Spilff Star

Fabolous is great but won't get much stage time.

Jay-Z is great and could make a new song on stage if he tried. But the rest of the Roc won't be there. They are on the Roc Army tour.

I know Eminem does a show in Detroit this summer, maybe if this show hits at the same time he will be on it. Since he is only doing two or three shows this year and Weds was one of them. Damn I wish I went to summer jam.

Rap concerts suck live. Unless the artist has a live band, like The Roots & Outkast. But other than that, expect at least 10 guys rapping and running around all at the same time.

You guys forgot to add Missy and Clipse as part of the tour. I wouldn't hold out hope for Eminem appearing. Don't you think Jay and 50 would rather not get overshadowed?

While it's true that most rap concerts suck live, I've been to quite a few concerts in other musical genres that blow just as hard, so it's not as if it's exclusive to rap.

Concerts tend not to be my cup of tea PERIOD, but I usually just go for the experience, to vibe/hear your favorite current hits with the crowds, meet strangers (specifically women) and be able to say "Oh I saw ____ live." Like how many people here today can say that saw either Pac or Biggie live during their peak? *raises hand* That's why I go.

Isn't Em only doing a couple of shows in the Michigan area this year and that's it as far as performances in the States go for 2003?

How is Sean Paul in concert ?

From what I hear, he is really good.

Sean Paul might steal the show if he has the dancehall chicks he has in videos. I never seen his videos but I keep hearing how well his backup dancers are. I didn't know Missy and the Clipse were added, the Chicago show will be the people I mention before except Busta. I think 50 sucks live thou he mumbles and gets drowned out by G-Unit. I think Jay is ok live he wasn't bad on Unplugged but The Roots had to do something with that.

I would love to go, except rappers these days steer clear of te LA area for some reason. They always stop in Anaheim, but thats a 90 minute drive and thats just without traffic. Snoop and Dre say they rep LA but they too afraid to go here. I would love to see 50 cent, Clipse and Sean Paul but they dont want to come here. It sucks.

Most rap concerts do indeed suck, however if you get the chance to see DMX live, go for it.

He is one of the most intense rappers out there. You feel his show. DMX may not be the greatest on the mic, but he rocks a fucking show.
