Guest kingkamala Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I was reading on Butterbean for some reason on boxrec.com. On the site it said that several journeymen took dives against Butterbean and one or two actually admitted it. Alright I have two questions, did I just completely miss this? And how much punching power does Butterbean actually have?
Guest Redhawk Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I don't think the issue is power; Butterbean is just so big, and not as much of it is fat as you'd think, that he does have good power. The problem is speed. Here's a guy who fough a 49-year-old Larry Holmes and couldn't catch up to him in the ring. So when the journeymen take dives, I think it's partially 1) They stood there and let him hit them, and 2) They probably could have gotten up after a knockdown but just stayed down.
Guest kingkamala Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 On the site it said that Butterbean "knocked out" a guy with a punch that looked like it didn't even glaze the guy. It also said on the site some guy was banned from boxing in Oklahoma or some state like that for admitting to taking a dive against Butterbean.
Guest CanadianChris Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 I think the real question here is... Why does anyone still care about Butterbean?
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Because he's bald, fat, white and wears an american flag on his crotch and ass.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 It was quite funny seeing him on Jackass throwing real punches.
