Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted June 6, 2003 With Badd Blood coming up I find it amusing that none of the commercials mention that it is a Raw ppv. Rather than say Raw Presents Bad Blood they are going with Stone Cold and Eric Bischoff presents. So does that mean next month we are going to see:Stephanie McMahon Presents Vengeance? Are they trying to hide the fact from the marks that it is split?
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 6, 2003 I think they're just putting the manager's names on the RAW PPV's because who actually controls RAW is an angle that they're doing. Putting "presented by Bisch/Austin" just futhers that story line. Big Steph has no one really competing against her for control of Smackdown, so I would assume that they would just call it a "Smackdown PPV
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted June 6, 2003 I think by now even the marks know it's a split. I bet the "GM presents" instead of "TV show presents" is so the real corporate sponsor (M&M's, Subway, 10-10-220, whoever...) doesn't feel like they're sharing the spotlight. "RAW presents Badd Blood" makes it sound more like RAW is the corporate sponsor. There's not confusion when it's just "Stone Cold presents..." Speaking of the split, I still contend they should have done it discreetly. Instead of the "We're splitting the shows! We're having a Draft! You can only see Brock Lesnar on Smackdown!" thing, they should have quietly split the shows and just let people figure it out. That way they wouldn't have had to go through all the messy, "How do we make a sensible explanation for Big Show switching rosters?' situations. Marks who love HHH and Austin would still buy Smackdown tickets and SD! brand house show tickets on the off chance that Triple H or Stone Cold might just show up, since they haven't been told, "HHH and Austin are only on RAW." Plus, they wouldn't have to have on-air authority figures, which is all good with me.

Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 6, 2003 No one distinguishes between the brands. The only difference is some people can only get one show or the other, depending on what region they live in or if their cable operator carries TNN/Spike TV. Does anyone think it's really fucking retarded now that they've gone to brand specific ppv's that SD had ads for Badd Blood last night? And they wonder why NO ONE has bought the brand split at all.
