Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted June 7, 2003 This is going to be hard to pick 1)Benoit vs the Great Sasuke: This match was a tribute not only to DK vs Tiger Mask but a tribute to the tournament DK vs Cobra match as well. The ending manuever is an update of the same manuever that DK used on Cobra in the closing moments of their match that happened in the same exact building. 2)Benoit vs Hart Tribute match-This may be the smartest match I've ever seen put together. Watch Benoit and Hart's first and 3rd Nitro matches. It's scary how much this match tells a story from their previous matches 3)Benoit vs Dean Malenko Hog Wild 96- This is one of the hardest working matches I've seen. I just wished it could have kept on going. Benoit here was probably the most in shape person on the planet. 4)Benoit vs Eddy Guerrero Best of the Super Juniors 96-This match is absolutely perfect and builds off their 2 best of super junior 95 matches 5)Benoit vs Eddy-Their first Best of Super Junior 95 match. This match is more rare than the semifinal match that occured later. Just a great match 6)Benoit vs Eddy-WCW SN Late 95 Double KO match. I like watching the fans reactions in this match. Some people stand up and clap in tribute after the match is over but my favourite fan here is a man who's dressed up in a buisness suit. I think it's a safe bet to say he hadn't seen much wrestling to this point but you just see him being dragged into the match. There's one point where he jumps out of his chair when Benoit gets a super pinning predicament thinking there was a good chance it was over. This bout is just plain awesome. 7)Benoit vs Liger-Benoit wins the title 8)Benoit/Otani vs Sasuke/Eddy-Man, Eddy's in here a lot. This was the finals of the 94 junior tag 9)Benoit vs Angle Royal Rumble-Everybody knows about this match 10)Benoit vs El Samurai 95 junior tournament-This was pretty much all action. It's now available in unedited form and represents why I like watching Benoit so much. He just puts so much heart into his matches Some of my favourites that didn't make it: Benoit vs Lyger- Lyger regains the title Benoit vs Lyger G-1 Climax 91- This is one of the most beautiful matches I've seen and the first appearance I know of the top rope powerbomb. Every move is just executed so flawlessly. Benoit/Idol vs Commandoes- Stampede The whole series is reccomended Benoit vs Johnny Smith series Benoit vs Hase Stampede when Hase was underneath the mask Benoit vs Owen Hart-These two had the chemistry thing going Benoit vs Bret Hart- The first match between the two was awesome. Ditto for the 3rd match. I loved the whole series Benoit vs Otani series Benoit vs Malenko-Battle of the Revolution 99 WCW Benoit vs Eddy-Their 1997 WCW cruiserweight match. I loved how the fans were just rabid for this match despite the way Benoit and Eddy were treated in WCW. This had as awesome action as you can get Benoit vs Eddy-WCW United States tournament match Not even a commercial break and cutting to the broadcast booth could ruin this match. Another absolutely rabid crowd for this match. Benoit vs Booker T Series Benoit vs Al Snow- This was either NWA or ECW. It was in front of about 30 people if that on a hand held if and Benot/Snow bust their buts for about 20 minutes. Great Stuff. Benoit vs Eddy-Benoit's redebut in WCW on Nitro. Benoit goes lucha and pulls out a head scissors? (can't think of the name) from a standing posistion during a mercy fight. Chris Benoit in the final match of the World Heavyweight Title Mayhem Tournament was one of Chris's best work. Chris Benoit Vs. godthedog 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 i don't remember the mayhem match being very good at all. both guys were obviously tired, & it just went from submission hold to submission hold without any flow or direction. once they combine bret's 'suplex reversal to german suplex' spot with benoit's 'rolling germans' spot, it gets REALLY good, but that's only for the last few minutes.
