Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 7, 2003 (edited) As I said when I started the heroes tourney, I would do a villains one when that wrapped up. In pulling names from the original nominations thread, I have the following names to start: Magneto Apocalypse Joker Green Goblin Venom Red Skull Lex Luthor Violator Ultron Two-Face Kingpin Galactus Thanos Dr. Doom Sabertooth Mystique Toad Doctor Octopus Bullseye Carnage Riddler Bane Ozymandias Gorilla Grodd Darkseid badass evil Sub-Mariner Mr. Sinister Juggernaut Saint of Killers The Lizard Solomon Grundy Loki Doomsday That's 33, so we need 31 more. Consider this not only a nominations thread, but a discussion thread as well. You can just toss up names if you wish, but making arguments on who you think should and shouldn't be included will way most heavy if we wind up with more than 64 names mentioned. I'll probably form the tournament and post the first round sometime in the middle of this coming week, so get those suggestions rolling in. EDIT: Added new names Starr (Preacher) Posion Ivy Bizzaro Superman Electro Catwoman Harley Quinn Ra's Al Ghul The Parasite The Sentinels Sinestro Vandal Savage Professor Zoom, The Reverse Flash The Penguin General Zod The Scarecrow The Dark Phoenix Brainiac Holocaust Mephisto Omega Red Mr. Freeze The Blob Parallex Extant/Monarch Anti-Monitor Scarecrow Sandman (Marvel) Baron Zemo Arnim Zola Baron Mordu Felix Faust The Mist The Shade Count Vertigo Amazo Dracula Deacon Frost Hobgoblin Demogoblin Abomination Bastion Black Tom Cassidy Kang Molecule Man Leader The Brood Grim Reaper Puppet Master Super Skrull Typhoid Mary Edited June 9, 2003 by WrestlingDeacon
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted June 7, 2003 (edited) Harley Quinn : The gal who's head over heels in love with Joker. A "lackey" if you will of Joker's, is capable of killing although hasn't shown it(Closest was almost killing Batman in "Mad Love"). Has also teamed up with Poison Ivy on numerous occasions to cause mayhem. Now leads her own group known as the Quinntets. Catwoman: More of a tweener role, however she was plotting to steal Gotham whilst using blackmail to become Corporate VP of Randolf Industries then became CEO and was running for Mayor till she was foiled by Trickster. I'll add more later if I feel up to it and add comments to my selections above if necessary Edited June 9, 2003 by DawnBTVS
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 7, 2003 You better explain Gambit, because he is mostly widely considered a hero and was included in that tournament. At this time, I say he doesn't make the cut as a villain, even those villains who turned hero and vice versa are fine, but you really need to argue those names. Sorry, my mind was fuzzy on the Gambit selection as I had forgotten he first joined up with the X-Men in the comic world. I've been on an X-Men: Evolution binge where he was associated with Magneto/Mystique thus my inclusion.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Is Elektra a villian? Starr (Preacher) Posion Ivy Bizzaro Superman (fuck yes) Ras Ghul or however the hell you say it Deadpool? Electro
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Deadpool and Elektra are iffy, because both have had hero runs, but they're tweeners at best. I'd say I'd toss them in, but they'd be among the first cuts without arguments to back them up.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 7, 2003 i was going to wait until i had some more posted, then see what the list looked like and ask about what cuts should be made if any, but i think it might be a good idea to add them in now, so I'll do that, thanks. Guest JMA Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Doomsday shouldn't be on the list. He's a terrible villain. He's totally uninspired, IMO. He was just created to kill Superman. I'd like to DE-nominate Doomsday.
Guest JMA Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Here are some I'd add: The Parasite The Sentinels Sinestro Vandal Savage Professor Zoom, The Reverse Flash (yes, that's his full name) The Penguin General Zod The Scarecrow The Dark Phoenix Edit: Brainiac
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Holocaust from AoA and Mephisto. And, I'd like to denominate Galactus since he's not a true villian like the others.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Omega Red & Mr. Freeze.
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I was going to nominate Blob if we were short on nominees, but it looks like we've got enough people.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Well we only got 54, so the Blob gets in. And that doesn't mean that there won't be some debate and selection by me if we get over 64. I probably won't have time to draw up the tourney until Wednesday. So this thread will be open until then and feel free to throw out any name that crosses your mind. We'll weed out the bad ones. Bored 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Here are 10 I don't see on the list to complete it. They are all Marvel villains though: Bastion Black Tom Cassidy Kang Molecule Man Leader The Brood Grim Reaper Puppet Master Super Skrull Typhoid Mary
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Hmmm. I was going to nominate Abomination from The Hulk, but it looks like we may have our 64 for now.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 9, 2003 The list now stands at 83, including some I added a little while ago. Feel free to debate on who shouldn't be on the list and even mention more names if you wish. If I don't get some good arguments out of people, I'll make the cuts myself. First round should be up sometime this Tuesday night or Wendesday morning.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Deadpool and Elektra are iffy, because both have had hero runs, but they're tweeners at best. I'd say I'd toss them in, but they'd be among the first cuts without arguments to back them up. I'd agree with tossing them out. At this point in time, they're associated more with being faces than heels, so while they HAVE been villains in the past, you'd think of them more as heroes. I'd say no to Puppet Master. He's a pretty good FF villain, but his story doesn't just run towards him simply being a villain. The whole substory with Alicia being his stepdaughter adds a whole new dimension to the character which doesn't quite make him a villain.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I'm still all for tossing Galactus out of the tournament since he's not a villian, but more of a force of nature.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I'm still all for tossing Galactus out of the tournament since he's not a villian, but more of a force of nature. Yeah, I'll second that...
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 9, 2003 ok, that's two, Galactus is toast unless someone wants to launch a really convincing campaign to get him back on.
Guest raptor Report post Posted June 9, 2003 I'm for Juggernaut being tossed for the following reasons: 1) He's an X-Man now 2) While a great character, he was a bumbling and kind of useless villain.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I'd take out Blob and Doomsday cause they are some totally lame-ass villains. And I'd like to let everyone know I am prepared to defend Solomon Grundy and Bizzaro Superman to the death.
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted June 10, 2003 And I'd like to let everyone know I am prepared to defend Solomon Grundy and Bizzaro Superman to the death. Likewise when it comes to Harley I'll second the tossage of Blob
Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 10, 2003 And I'd like to let everyone know I am prepared to defend Solomon Grundy and Bizzaro Superman to the death. To be honest, I don't know much about Grundy outside of "Superman's Song" and Superfriends, so can you enlighten me?
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Just so you guys know, by kicking out guys like Doomsday and Galactus, albeit with good reasons, you're letting lesser characters get in. Right now I'm down to a pool of 3rd rate Marvel villains who haven't made the cut. So when you see Black Tom Cassidy and Deacon Frost in the tourney, there better be no bitching. Tell, me who better damn well be in of the lower tier guys?
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Are Scarecrow and The Scarecrow the same person? If so, there's an error since Scarecrow's listed twice
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted June 10, 2003 yeah, I caught the Scarecrow error when I was drawing up my preliminary brackets. I believe Marvel does have a Scarecrow character as well, but let's just ignore that. Thanks, though.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Keep Doomsday. If Bane gets to stay, Doomsday sure as hell better get a spot. The Shade? Get rid of him. He's a d-level baddie at best.
Guest raptor Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Keep Doomsday. If Bane gets to stay, Doomsday sure as hell better get a spot. The Shade? Get rid of him. He's a d-level baddie at best. Isn't he more of a hero now anyways? Oh, and I think that Doomsday needs to go in. Lame or not, he's still one of the most recognizable villains. He killed Superman for fuck's sake. Galactus should go in over Black Tom, even if his villainy is a little wishy-washy. Deacon Frost however, should be in if we're going by movies too.
