Guest Renegade Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Winner: Ken Masters def Sagat 13-7 I like to thank everyone who voted, this tourney lasted longer than almost any other tourney held on the boards as of late (128 participants) and I hope that every requested character was included. Hopefully a decent amount of good fighting games will be out in time for next year. Thanks again. I know you'll be back...*static*
Guest Cavi Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Ken winning is all good with me, as he is iconic, and I don't really care for Sagat.
Guest eiker_ir Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 My favorite character ever, followed by Terry. Shoryuuken!

Just so that when I'm proven WRONG (cause it's me) and so you can rub it in my face that I was? Big whoopie.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Gomer: SUH-PRAZE, SUH-PRAZE, SUH-PRAZE!! Didn't vote until the finals--ah well.

Guest KoR Fungus Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Ken is reasonably worthy... I guess. These are always fun. Hopefully by next year everyone will have discovered the greatness of GG characters and they won't all be jobbed out so fast.
Guest Sakura Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I've been meaning to check out the Guilty Gear series since the first on PSX but just kept putting it off. Last week I bought GGX for PS2 just out of no where on impulse and before I can play it once my PS2 dies on me.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Ditto...lessee...bitchin' 2-D animation, insane gameplay, and a heavy metal soundtrack? And I haven't checked it out yet? Must be the shitty ad campaign--do they even have one? I need to check out GGX2 though.
Guest Renegade Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Does GGXX have more frames than GGX? I own GGX and am considering buying XX in the next week or so, but the the thing that annoyed me most about GGX (besides the announcer) was the fluidity. For a game which has such high res visuals the frame count felt pretty low to me. Indeed hopefully Guilty Gear will be more understood for next year, there are some classic characters in the series.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I've only played GGX2, so I'm not sure about the framerate relative to GGX. To me, the framerate doesn't seem any worse than CvS2 on the PS2, but I'm not nearly as framerate sensitive as some people. The only problems I have with it are the problems I have with all 2D fighters. I'm not big into the 2D style, particularly super moves which I despise with a passion. Still, GGX2 is so incredibly polished, stylish and deep that I enjoy it even though it's 2D.
Guest Renegade Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I just placed an order on X2, so I'll have it in a couple of days.
Guest Renegade Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I recieved my copy of GGX2 through the mail today, and so far I'm digging it. The presentation is so much better than than GGX.
