Guest OnlyMe Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 at thesmartmarks.com. If any of it seems familiar, a not-as-good version was posted here a while back. Thoughts? Comments?
Guest Damn You Helmsley Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 With the exception of Brock Lesnar, nobody who was in a World title match at a PPV from March 2002 – May 2003 was doing so for the first time, which is hardly a good sign. John Cena at Backlash. Otherwise, good job.
Bored Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 I've liked the roster split for the most part since they've stopped having so many jumps between shows. You have to realize without the roster split we'd get HHH/Nash twice a week and Mr. America/Vince twice a week. That's reason enough to like it.

Guest edotherocket Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Who's idea was the brand extension? Was it actually Vince's? I mean, if Vince chose to do it with the idea of making new stars, why didn't it actually happen since he, y'know, owns the company, and is the last word on who gets pushed etc? If he had no real intention of making any new stars beyond Brock Lesnar, why bother with the brand extension where you halve the number of stars on some PPVs and reduce the number of matchups you can do?
Guest buffybeast Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 This was a good column. I do not, however, believe the split ppvs will work. The buyrates are low now as it is. I don't think people will consistently pay full price to see half the roster perform.
Guest JMA Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Vince wouldn't even need to split the roster if he just cut off some of the dead weight. People like Nash, Michaels, Hogan, Steiner, ect al.
