Problems need help

Imesh has damaged my computer I need some advise.  Sometimes I have to reboot several times due to the imesh connection issue, which leaves me having to reset my wallpaper everytime.  I have uninstalled it but still have the same problem.

 

Also my cd burners is making coasters pissing me off.  I have run Norton Utilities, and defrag the hard drive but still making coasters.

I have seen the same problems with iMesh before too.  I think the program just sucks.  I eventually got tired of it's bullshit, and switched to Win MX and Morpheus.

 

As for the burner problem the only time mine made a few coasters in a row it was because the burner was faulty and had to be replaced.  I was using a 4X HP burner and the light on the burner always switched to red instead of the normal yellow or green.

What program are you running and what speed are you burning at?

 

I use Nero and generally burn at 4x, which seems to give me the most consistent burns.  When I ran at 6x, I got buffer underruns.

 

Also, if you are converting mp3s to CD audio, some files might be damaged.  Nero typically checks for that, and you can repair the file with Goldwave or any other audio manipulation app.

I have a HP 9100, used both Easy CD Creator and Prasi but get coaster at 8x speed burn.  I hope the laser is not the problem.  Whenever the test phase seems ok but then in the recording phase I get errors giving me coasters.

Sounds like a buffer underrun.  Try it at 4x and see if it turns out OK, and I hope you buy blanks in bulk...

so the cure for buffer underrun is burn at lower speed?

 

$20 for 50 pack spindle!!!!!

Call HP because they have a pretty good tech support staff that might be able to help.

HP's tech support isn't free anymore, and never was terribly good.  Now that you have to pay for it, you're better off soliciting opinions on the street.

 

The problem with HP's CD-R drives is that they usually have a 2 MB buffer size.  Yours might have a 4, but neither is really great.  Ideally, a drive should have an 8 MB buffer.  That way, you can burn at the higher speeds and not get buffer underrun errors.
