Guest Report post Posted March 27, 2002 If I have found one continuous theme on this message board so far it has been this: Triple H is a backstage politicking bastard who holds everyone down in an attempt to glorify himself. Know what I have to say about that? Good for him. If everything that everyone says about him is true then I am going to take this opprotunity to applaud the man. In an industry based around triumphs and victories in fictional situations Paul Levesque has managed to work his way to the top of the heap for real. And he deserves to be where he is in my opinion. Not only was the man completely buried after the curtain call, he also had to deal with Stone Cold Steve Austin (the golden boy of wrestling according to everyone else) making him look like a jobber repeatedly during their initial and subsequent feuds and the fact that the bionic redneck refused to drop the belt to him in what was supposed to be his monster push into the main event. He managed to overcome all of that and solidly cement his reputation as one of the greatest heels in the sport, but he has also earned the accolades of most of his peers as being one of the hardest workers in the business and one of its most devoted students. I forgot that he was an asshole though. Try putting yourself in his shoes. Would you do the same thing? I would and I have. The man has EARNED everything that he has gotten in one form or another. He gives back as well. People like to forget about that. Who brought Kurt Angle up to the main event? Who had his matches on Heat against the likes of Bob Holly? Who laid down and did a job for the Brooklyn freaking Brawler? Who brought Jericho to the main event? Who makes just about everyone that he feuds with look brilliant (post comeback matches excluded so far)? Who carried the company when the same self serving bastard who refused to drop him the title was out with an injury? Who put the Radicalz over when they first hit the WWF? None of that counts though right? Because Triple H is holding everyone else down. I find it funny that the two people he is accused of doing this to the most I do not find to be that talented in the ring (Jericho and RVD). That is just my opinion though. Unlike most I am not going to state that as a fact. Some of these arguments just seem silly to me though. Apparently once you have become the boyfriend of the daughter of the owner of the company you can do whatever you want. I cannot even get my wife to wash the dishes but Triple H can apparently get Stephanie to put him over at all costs and bury everybody else. With a billion dollar company on the line. Right. Hello twilight zone. I am thinking that a lot of these people who have a problem with Triple H probably (once again this is only my opinion) probably have personal issues that they reflect upon his situation. Anyone out there hate their job? Anyone passed over on a promotion? Want a piece of advice? Do something about it. Then shove it back in their faces. I find it amusing that JR pushed Austin to the moon by constantly citing that Austin was doing what everyone else wished they could have done to their bosses. That got him over. Triple H does the same thing for real and everyone hates him. So be it. Hate the man. I admire him on a personal level and I still think that he is one of the most talented and entertaining athletes that this sport has ever seen. I also think that he will continue to be so well into the future. Opinions vary. Mine more so then most when compared to the vast majority of the statements that I see posted on this board. Proceed to rip me a new one. As an aside, my favorite match of all time was definitely the two out of three falls match between Triple H and Austin at No Way Out. Why? Simple. My boy finally went over that son of a bitch clean. I have never marked out so much in my life. Not even when Trips won any of his titles.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Triple H from the vegas wedding to the injury was my favourite performer in the world. As a heel he carried the WWF. Foley is in my all time top three and his last two matches with HHH were a fitting send off something that Steamboat and Dynamite Kid my other two never got. His vignettes and promos were great. I think he's responsable for Angle,Jericho and Benoit being near M/E in the WWF, through the love triangle (which had a poor ending), the Phantom title change and the first night of the Radicalz. His feud with Foley is the last one in the WWF where I got the feeling that two guys hated each other. His teasing of a face turn was great stuff and then when he didn't despite the fans wanting to cheer him it worked because he made it work. All through this he was having great matches right up until he tore his quad. Now well just like I don't like the Rock as a face, I'm not that gone as HHH in that role either. His feud with Jericho didn't work(IMO poor writing), Steph had gone past annoying and the whoel divorce thing sucked. His matches haven't been anywhere near the standard of his pre injury stuff either because of ring rust or too much muscle mass, or he's half arsed. A good showing while retaining against Undertaker at Backlash and then a program with Benoit would suit me. If he's still not over as a face after that give someone else the belt and turn him. If he fails to get over and doesn't draw then all the backstage politicing in the world won't help him but while I can see him failing as a face I can't see him failing as a heel. By the way fucking the bosses daughter not to mention the head writer is the biggest double edged sword there is.
Guest Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Yeah that is a big double edged.. Imagine if they have a messy break-up.. You'll see Triple H losing constantly to the likes of..Maven, and whoever wins TE2. He needs to shed some of that muscle, and go back to being a heel.. He's just one guy that isn't a good face he's just not a likeable guy..unless he's a complete cynical prick..instead of "RAWR I AM THE GAME" yadda.
