Guest Memphis Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 I recall a group photo of Terri, Trish, Tori, Ivory, and The Kat all smiling and whatnot. WWE probably didn't want to mix the black girl in and mess everything up.... Ummm, isn't Ivory black??? .......No.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 (edited) If Vince gives her a new name, rather than letting her use her own name, then he'll own the rights to the marketing and whatnot. So, if (by some amazing fluke) she becomes a star and chooses to leave the wwe, she'd have to use a name OTHER than the one that she got famous with. Which would hurt her marketability. And that, my friends, is an example of why Vince was once considered a genius. Also, there's already a prominent woman who is named Linda on WWE broadcasts...I guess the occasionally confusion between Cracker Jackie and Black Jackie prompted this, also. Oh, and Ivory isn't black--I think she's supposedly Italian/Native American. Her real name (Moretti) sounds very Italian to me, so that part I'm pretty certain about. Edited June 12, 2003 by AndrewTS
Guest JMTapes Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Vitamin X, Could we get those pics under control? Thanks man. -JM
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I know I was working on them. First sig update in a long time. And since when were you the sig monitor?
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 At least Vince didn't have a crossover campaign for the release of "Juwana Mann" on DVD, because god help us & Linda Miles if he did. though she is a bit manly, roughly a .3 on the Jazz Scale
Guest TheArchiteck Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Jazz shouldn't even be associated with an ugly scale! Take that back!
Guest Vyce Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Ivory black? What is that, some sort of racial slur against Italians?
Guest Nobody in Particular Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Well, I'm watching the sattelite feed of the show right now (what WWE sends to the stations), and yes, she was introduced as Shaniqua, and yes, Tazz did mention that it is Linda Miles.
Guest Nanks Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Sorry, I looked really quickly at a pic and for some unknown bloody reason decided Ivory was black. How bizarre. I'm going to blame it on alcohol.
Guest Redhawk Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I doubt they changed her name for the "in case she gets famous" reason, because everyone else from Tough Enough kept their real names. I just hope they don't have Linda Miles acting all extra ghetto.
Guest Nobody in Particular Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I just hope they don't have Linda Miles acting all extra ghetto. I don't want to spoil too much but I will say you have nothing to worry about there.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 You know what I still wonder... Why don't they let Maven and Nidia use their last names, like Linda and Jackie have in their appearances...or like the Tough Enough 3 winners (whose names escape me right now) did? I know Maven's last name is Huffman (no relation to Booker Huffman AKA Booker T), but what about Nidia?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Tazz mentioned that she was Linda Miles. But she was introduced as and refered to as Shaniqua the rest of the way. And the leather outfit and whip wierded me out somewhat..

I know Maven's last name is Huffman (no relation to Booker Huffman AKA Booker T), but what about Nidia? I don't know, I think "Maven" and "Nidia" are unique enough without last names attached to them. Plus, "Maven Huffman" would be a bad wrestler name, as would "Nidia Jones" or whatever it might be. Those two sound enough like fake-ish wrestling names to stand on their own. The other TE kids (Josh, Chris, Linda, Jackie, John, Matt) have common names that need last names attached so they'll stand out.
Guest MixxMaster Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Well, I'm watching the sattelite feed of the show right now (what WWE sends to the stations).... Hey, how did you get hooked up with THAT?
