Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Lets see what the news says today.. The following are highlights from Linda McMahon's conference call held earlier today: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's biography will be available in time for the Christmas holiday. WWE lost $8.9 million due to the closing of "The World" restaurant in Times Square. She stated that Goldberg's run in WWE has been "disappointing" thus far. The war in Iraq was blamed for low Pay-Per-View buys. She said there are still plans to continue Tough Enough, saying that it was a very important show for them because it had a large female audience. There are negotiations to acquire several wrestling video tape libraries, but she didn't reveal which ones, since the deals have yet to be finalized. WWE is not involved in the production of The Rock's films, but they do receive an executive producer credit due to the use of his copyrighted WWE name, "The Rock" in Hollywood. The following are notes from the Stacy Keibler interview in this month's Stuff Magazine: - Stacy definitely would never want her legs to get injured because that's what she's known for. Stacy never appreciated them until she got into wrestling and fans noticed her just for her legs; something rare in entertainment. - Stacy enjoyed the rush that came at football games when she was a cheerleader, but feels wrestling is better because fans recognize her. She's not just the "tall cheerleader" but Stacy Keibler, a well-known WWE diva. - Stacy says she'd rather not mention her relationships in Stuff Magazine, but has dated other coworkers. - Stacy notes that in the female locker room, all the girls get along very well. She says that while she has no enemies at work, she can't say that about everyone backstage in WWE. (Thanks to Amish Patel) Kurt Angle will make his returning to the ring at tonight's Smackdown brand house show in Odessa, Texas. He will be teaming with Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker in a six-man tag team match against The F.B.I. Goldberg will be making his first house show appearance for the company at tonight's RAW brand house show in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He won't be wrestling on the card, as he is listed as making a "special appearance". OVW competitors get WWE opportunity Several Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) competitors have gotten one step closer over the past few weeks to their dream of becoming WWE Superstars. Continue... (Thanks to WWE.com) Last night's edition of WWE Smackdown scored a final 3.7 broadcast rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. That number is way up from last week's 3.1 and is the highest rating the show has received since 10/24/02. Matt Hardy's match with Rey Mysterio on last night's Smackdown was the final match of their feud and is appears as though he will be moving on to the heavyweight division. Hardy is said to be very high in Vince McMahon's eyes due to the strong rating his match with Mysterio received on last week's Smackdown (a 3.6, which was the highest rated segment on the show). The reason for Kurt Angle's downplayed role on last night's Smackdown is apparently because of the rating his return segment received, which was considered a major disappointment. Guest INXS Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Matt Hardy moving up to the Heavyweights means he'll be jobbing to Taker soon.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Matt Hardy can gain wait now! And dump Crash, he's useless. The US title would be perfect for Matt Hardy.. Whats the point of showing up at a house show and not wrestling? Im sure people are lined up around the building to see Goldberg make a special appearance at a house show in his home town.. Stacy was a Ravens Chearleader...nothing else to say..
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Special appearance. IE Spear Chris Jericho.
Guest Nightscrawler Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed Matt and gave him the U.S. Title, as they are trying to push Christian and have given him the Intercontinental Title.

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I'm really getting into Matt. He reminds me of Chris Jericho circa 1998. Not sure if I would be quick to put another title on him this quickly. Might prefer a John Cena or ... although this is becoming more and more unlikely as the weeks go by ... a heel Chris Benoit. Hopefully once this Benoit / Rhyno feud is over I won't have to sit through any more jobs to O'Haire, Show, Stamboli, or a Basham...
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Does this mean Matt will constantly win matches against wrestlers not named Funaki and Kidman?
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I would dig a Matt/Cena vs. Benoit/Rhyno match to set the tone for the US division. This time Rhyno can lose due to a Benoit mistake, which will spark the feud even more.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Or have like a KOTR-like tournament at Vengence with those 4 and a few others.
Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Hardy would make a great US Champion, but not right now. I still say, have a tourney, have Benoit/Rhyno in the final with Benoit ending up being the heel Champion, and eventually moving onto a feud with Matt Hardy! Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Benoit should not be anywhere near the US Title. He is a Main Eventer and should be in the hunt for the real title.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 14, 2003 unfortunately Benoit will be stuck with the US title like Booker T will be stuck with the IC title. at least in Benoit's case its not a Egotistical Main eventer banging the bosses daughter thats keeping him from being the first Super J Cup winner to be the WWE World champion. Booker how ever is probably screwed beyond belief.
