Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted March 27, 2002 I loved Raven's flock as much as anyone (well, the ECW version at least; the wcw version didn't really do much) And felt that the Dangerous Alliance was the best gimmick in wrestling at that point. And only became a wrestling fan because of Flair and the original Horseman ... but why does everyone here seem so bent on re-creating these gimmicks? The thing that made each of them so great was that they weren't the same old thing, but instead they were something new and different. Rather than try to reinvent the wheel, why can't we hope for a new ANYTHING to get excited over???
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Probably because the WWF writers have so little originality, it's all we expect.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Stables when done right are great. The Flock is still a viable way to use the midcard guys who are lost in the shuffle and Raven is perfect as the leader. The Horsemen's time is past and was hurt with members who didn't fit in or wern't up to the calibre of what the Horsemen should be. Hated Lou E Dangerously but will always have fond memories of Austin, Flair, Madusa et al controlling WCW. Elite stables shouldn't be redone you either rehash everything, or end up looking weak (NWO).
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Jim Cornette once said that the statute of limitations on angle theft is 7 years. Raven debuted in ECW in '95, and immediately began his feud with Tommy Dreamer. It is now 2002. It's time, people! Seriously though, I don't think it's a push for re-creations of past gimmicks, I think it's just our opinions on the concepts that worked so well before. Also, as with everything in life (music, clothes, etc.), everything old will become new again. Hopefully the WWF creative team won't just throw an old idea out there and hope it sticks again. Let's see some tweaks, people!
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Hopefully the WWF creative team won't just throw an old idea out there and hope it sticks again... It's a little too late for that. Remember... ... you can't spell "throw an old idea" without the letters nWo...
