movie I made got deleted

for US History we had to do a project on World War 2, I did a video. We had the weekend to do it, luckily it was a 4-day weekend because I ended up using every waking second of it working on the damn thing. I finished it, burned it onto a DVD and made a VHS and gave them to my teacher. I went to show it to my sister (she goes to University of Missouri and was only here part of the weekend) and I found out the file got deleted! On top of that, I couldn't re-save it because some of the footage I used was ALSO deleted, and I can't show her the VHS or DVD I made because I let my teacher keep them. So basically I have no access to this video I spent 4 days straight making until school starts again.

 

EDIT: oh crap, I forgot I was in the movie's folder... any way this could get moved to the computer folder or the general folder?

Do a search for the file name.

I did that, turned up nothing. at least it didn't turn up the video

Try by the extension. Anything in the Recycle Bin?

nah. This wouldn't have been a recent deletion, it was probably when I burned it onto DVD or a little afterwards

Only thing I could tell you would be to borrow the DVD from the teacher and save it again to your HD.

that's what I'm planning on doing, but summer vacation started last week, and school starts again mid-August, so that's a bit of a wait. Just a bit pissed at the moment

Just be thankful that it didn't get deleted before you burned the thing to DVD.
