I finally stopped crying over not being able to go to this show- Malibu was there live, hopefully he can add his two cents. In the meantime, here are quick results, courtesy of Matt at the DVDVR board.

Showcase @ 6:30

Two filler matches. Neither were very good. One had a big guy named Flatliner beat someone.

Special K over Ring Crew Express + Slyk Wagner Brown. (Angel Dust got the pin and thus got entered into the 4 way later on. Slyk looked good. It had been a while since I`ve seen him and he seemed a lot more agile/fluid.)

Carnage Crew over CTC. After the match the Carnage Crew did a top rope piledriver on CTC`s valet.

Striker(Stryker?) over Beckett. I think. The Crowd really hated this. Never gave it a chance.

Homicide won the 4-way by making Walters tap out. Justin Credible took out Angel Dust as he was coming out and entered himself into the match. I thought this was a lot of fun but I was sort of biased as I was glad to see Walters working on this level and getting appriciated by the local crowd.

Second City Saints b Raven/BJ. Lots of outside antics that I couldn`t see. Pretty good mic work beforehand. I like Punk more each time I see him and I actually think he draws some SXE people to the show that might not be there normally. Major beat down on Raven and BJ after the match.

intermission.

Prince Nana beat.. uh. pass? Maybe it was El Diablo Santiago.

SAT beat Mikey/Slim J. After the match Special K was beating on SAT. Carnage Crew came out to beat on Mikey. Mikey fought back. Credible came out and super kicked Mikey, joining the Carnage Crew.

Paul London Drew AJ Styles. Good match with good build. Crowd was 60-40 for Styles and really added to things. It started with some good ROH babyface/babyface exchanges where London kept wanting handshakes and the hostility was escalating and then moved into London working on Styles leg including a great SSP onto it. Ended with a double pin on a german suplex. AJ came out with the NWA title.

Prophecy b Group, and due to a challenge Low Ki made to both before the match the group must now disband. Pretty good action. Daniels, in the way he interacts with the crowd, is always something special to see live. Maff got a surprise pin on Samoa Joe possibly leading to a title match for him.

Just a few quick notes. My friend and I joked earlier that Jamal may be working the show.

First match was Flatliner vs. Thorn (I think). Flatliner's a big black dude who got an Ahmed Johnson chant. Never heard of Thorn, but he did have eyeballs drawn on the back of his yellow shorts. Not good; the lowlight being them miscommunicating on a chokeslam and Flatliner only getting Thorn about a foot off the ground. Flatliner won with a non-sucky chokeslam.

Then we have Jimmy Jack Cash (something like that) against Rip (don't quote me here) of Special K, making him the 88th member of that stable. Maybe the most unmemorable match in history--I do remember Cash won with a powerbomb/chokeslam deal.

Things did pick up with the Ring Crew Express/Slyk vs. Special K (billed as weighing a million and one pounds). Some nutty spots. I was surpised Angel Dust won, since I thought the four way match was too, I dunno, high profile for him. Turns out I wasn't wrong. Plus Slyk did the job, when Dunn and Marcos are right there!

When Angel Dust came out for the 4 way, his music stopped playing and "Snap Your Fingers Snap Your Neck" started playing, and Justin Credible of all people comes out and superkicks Mr. Dust. He is of course, allowed to take his place (hey. it's wrestling). Justin was just crazy over, you would've thought Dynamite Kid stood up from his wheelchair to wrestle a match by the pop Justin got. We latrer learning Justin joined the Carnage Crew. Whatever happened to Masada? Was he just a Carnage Crew intern?

Couldn't see any of Punk/Cabana vs. Raven/BJ when the brawled on the floor, which was a lot of the match.

AJ/Paul was real good, duh, even with the ending. Main event started super slow and had little heat. I think people were tired at that point, plus there was a long interview segment that preceded it. I thought I was watching ROH is HOR.

Best moment was when Ki was talking about the title, and said "I gave my heart and soul for sixty seconds to get that title!" Gee, what did he do for the other 59 minutes?

Fun show. I got to meet CM Punk, HC Loc, and AJ Styles afterwards and got their autographs. Nice guys. Phew, time for bed.

Beckett looked good to me, CC. The match with Matt Stryker seemed a bit short to me, and was pure mat wrestling. Both guys did a hell of a job though.

The four-way with Credible vs. Sabin vs. Homicide vs. John Walters got the crowd going, as the crowd was hot for Credible, local guy Walters got a lot of face heat, and the guys behind me were totally ragging on Homicide, calling him "Homo-cide". Good match, though I wonder if Credible is the right fit for those types of matches, and he works a slower style than these guys.

Raven and BJ Whitmer had a good brawl with CM Punk and Colt Cabana. Before the match, Punk cut a promo praising his "straight edge soldiers" and how he and they are better than those of us who weren't representing sXe. I've got to say, I like what I've seen on TNA, but Punk has no character there yet. Tonight sold me on him, as I love his whole schtick.

During intermission, saw Alexis Laree just standing around, talking to a few people. Got her autograph and a pic with her. Seemed very nice and down to earth. I think she was a little overwhelmed over how many people flocked to her once they caught on who she was, but she signed everything with a smile.

SAT's vs. Mikey/Dixie was OK, though Mikey looks like he's packed on a few pounds. Still, decent spotfest, which led to Special K brawling to the back, Loc and DeVito running in to jump Mikey, Justin Credible joining in, the SAT's running them off, and Mikey turning on the SAT's. That whole segment just reeked of ECW, as Mikey went heel to face to heel in under 2 minutes.

Styles/London (which was my main reason for going...got my London shirt but admittedly, I was split on this match) was damn cool. GREAT psychology as London worked the knee quite a bit, so even when AJ hit the Styles Clash, he sold the leg as he landed on it. Bullshit finish IMO, as they shouldn't have given us a draw the way they did (both guys shoulders down?). Crowd was split between the two competitors, and it seemed to me that the rumored London heel turn (which I've heard about from Jay) was being built, as he showed a little more of an edge than I've seen him do. Could just be my perception though.

The main event six man was decent, but I wasn't impressed in the slightest with Samoa Joe. THIS guy is the champion over Daniels, Styles, London, etc.? Blah. Not too familiar with Danny Maff, but he looked OK. Loved Daniels (who looks crisp in every match I see him in) and finally got to see Donovan Morgan live. Before the match, Low Ki made the stipulation that the losing team must disband, since he was angry about the two groups fighting over him. Thank GOD The Prophecy won, as I don't see the point in putting a bunch of guys together to simply be called "The Group". RF isn't much for thinking up an actual name for these guys, is he?

Post-show, we hung around and met CM Punk (got a picture and an autograph), Matt Stryker (just an autograph) and AJ F'N STYLES~! Talked to AJ for a few, as I was the last person to actually go up to him. Typical "congrats on this past Wed., etc." type deal. Funny moment is that the guy before me, some old dude, took his picture with AJ and accidentally hit him on the ass. When I asked AJ for a picture, he shook my hand and said sure, as long as I promised I wasn't going to goose him like the old man did.

This was my first ROH experience, and I have to say it was a blast, better than most live WWE shows I've been to, and certainly better than the lackluster New England indies. 9/6/03 is the return date, and you can best believe that I'm going to head up there again.
