Guest alkeiper Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Larry Doby passed away today at the age of 78. Doby is best know for being the first african american to play in the American League, for the Cleveland Indians. Doby was part of the '54 Indian pennant winners, and is a member of the baseball HOF.
