Guest Breetai Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Just a few things I'm not clear about... 1. Is it Kobashi who does the powerbomb-into-facebuster? What's the move's official name? 2. What's the name of that jumping leg lariat Kawada does? Is it the Gamengiri? 3. What about the kick he does which is basically a rolling forward somersault into a stinding opponent? Koppo kick? 4. What's the harshness dust? How is it performed/sold? 5. How would one describe the following sequence in, say, the context of a rant? Wrestler 1 has Wrestler 2 in a sitting position on the mat. 1 iis behind 2. 1 is streaching 2's straightened arms out behind him, working the shoulders. 2 fights his way to his feet, forcing himself to spin around so that their positions are now reversed, and 1 is now having the move performed upon him, albeit in a standing position. 6. Is it just me, or does Kobashi do a fameasser? What's the (hopefully more dignified) Japanese name for that move?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 (edited) 2) Gamengiri is a jumping kick to the face. Gamen being face if I'm right. 3) Yep, Lyger does it as well. 4) Do you mean Sterness Dust? In which case: Fishermans w/ Wrist Clutch to Fireman's Carry w/ Wrist Clutch to Fisherman's Buster w/ Wrist Clutch Wrist Clutch just means you're grabbing their free arm at the wrist. 5) That's a Seated Surfboard reversed into a Standing Surfboard 6) Guillotine Ace Crusher. I think Misawa or Kawada busted out a Stunner once. Edited June 19, 2003 by Dace59
Guest Breetai Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Just to clarify for #2; in AJPW - Mitsuhara Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada - 1998-05-01, it's the last kick he does before the second dangerous brainbuster of the match, right before the 2 powerbombs at the end. Also, 7. WTF is Kobashi's Diamondhead Powerbomb?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Diamondhead: Powerbomb to Sheer Drop Inverted Side Slam So you lift up for a powerbomb, and swing them down under one arm so, they're going face first ito the mat and impacted head/face first. It was only done twice I think, and I read K said it was meesed up both times. I think, can someone fill in the gaps.
Guest Breetai Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Sweet, thanks. And was I right on that move I described in my second post?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I haven't seen the math (damn my lack of money) But it should be, as Kawada does it a lot. He'd he facing into the opp, almost at a right angle to them and hits them in the face with the front of his foot (the top bit, not the sole)

He jumps up,and creams his opponent on the back of the head with one foot. It's kinda like a one legged roundhouse dropkick.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 That's an Enuzigiri then. As an Enuzigiri is a Back Brain Kick, or kick to the back of the head.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I thought that a Gamengiri was an Enzuigiri sans the holding of the leg by the opponent....oh well...
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Nope. Gamengiri is to the face. Enzuigiri is to the back of the head. It doesn't matter with an Enzuigiri if the opp holds your leg or not, if you you just jump.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Gamengiri-Jumping Roundhouse Kick to the face. Enzuigiri-Jumping Roundhouse Kick to the back of the head. The Holding of the leg is insignificant, if you jump and catch them in the back of the head with the arch of your boot, it's an Enzuigiri. In the 98 match, it is the Gamengiri that sets up the Brainbuster, he kicks him in the forehead silly, not the back of the head.
