Another dreamer vs. raven feud?

On SMACKDOWN!, as some of you already may know, Raven wins the Hardcore Title, because of Dreamer's interferance. Just the visual of them in the same ring again sparked back some ECW nostalgia. And since they're on the same half of the fed (along with most of the other ECW Hardcore guys) I think it would be a good idea for them to feud over the Hardcore Title to have the title have at least SOME importance. I think if they just made the hardcore division the "ECW division" and kept guys like Goldust out of there, that they could actually produce some entertainment. And with some air time, I think Raven and Dreamer could easily have a PART 2 in their epic saga....in the WWF. But that's just me, what do you guys think? Please reply.

I'm an ECW mark, and I loved the feud in ECW, but I'm not sure what condition Dreamer is in. Maybe if they let Heyman write it, but I don't think it will be the same.

It can work if three factors are present (and all HAVE to be present):

 

1.  Heyman's writing it

 

2.  Dreamer's healthy enough to put on decent matches

 

3.  They're allowed to use ECW footage to fill people in

 

You can't start it from scratch because ECW fans will revolt.  On the other hand, you can't just continue it as it was because not enough people watched ECW to know what's going on.  This will only fly if the WWF ends up getting the rights to use the ECW video library.

 

Which reminds me, has there been any update at all on ECW's bankruptcy proceedings in the last six months or so?

Yeah, the way Dreamer and Raven have been treated then I don't see the feud gaining steam. I have my memories of the feud the first time around and that's enough

JHawk I don't see any of those things happening.  Vince doesn't use former promotions storylines (nWo excepted).  Dreamer is not in good condition I've seen him at a house show and a Smackdown taping live and he doesn't look good.  Heymen writing it is a possibility but Vince would probably veto any ideas that might elevate people he doesn't want elevated.

 

This feud was very good in 95-96 angle and storyline wise.  Their matches rarely reached *** IMO.  In 2000 when they tried the sequel it wasn't anywhere near the original product, as both men were injured and Hermen was burnt out.  If they feud at all it will be no more than a nod to hardcore ECW fans and over the Hardcore title and I don't expect Dreamer to ever go over Raven.

Dreamer's condition was the main factor I considered when making the match, and now that I hear that he's injured, even I'm not sure if the feud would work out.

It's not so much that he is injured really, he is more beat up like Foley in his final years.  Tommy just can't really bring the goods, I don't think he ever really could anyway, but he is worse now.

Like someone said earlier, the ECW footage is key for this one.  However....they might have to leave out a lot, as to not confuse the audience.  I mean, think about it, do you really think that current WWF fans are going to pay attention to a 3-5 minute video describing the ENTIRE feud?  Hell, if a feud spans more than 3 months in the WWF, they seem to disregard the first 2 months and play the recent stuff anyway.

Feuds still last more than three months in the WWF?  The entire Invasion only went five!

Man, I hate the WWF.  Anyways, it would help elevate Raven, so that is cool.  I think Dreamer would be a better manager for Raven.

As you can tell from my handle, I'm a Raven mark, so anything that would help him get over in the WWF is OK with me (remember the Saturn/"Moppy" feud? eugh...).  Ironically enough, since I've only been watching wrestling for a little over a year now, I've never actually seen a "real" Raven match in ECW, and have never seen Dreamer in a match... ever (I don't think they even had him wrestle on TV in the inVasion storyline)... so, for those reasons it might be cool to see the feud rekindled, but logic tells me no way (after all, theoretically seeing Hogan on TV for the first time since I was a child should've been cool too, and it was for a little while, but Dreamer doesn't have anywhere near that kind of cool/nostalgia recognition, especially if he's injured).  Wasn't there some WWF magazine article suggesting that Raven was going to reform The Flock with Billy Kidman? That'd be a way cooler storyline...

I haven't seen enough of Dreamer to vote, but like someone said before, if Raven is being elevated, I'm down with that
