Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Thanks for adding that. I'm not very good at describing what they are talking about in good enough fashion. Currently though, they are talking about drugs in the business and how the public still perceives that there is drug problems within the business.

I guess steroids and RVD's pot use doesn't count.

I guess steroids and RVD's pot use doesn't count. It was more of how the problem was that instead of taking time to address that there is pain, they take pain-killers galore to compete at full capacity. That's what I meant. Sorry. Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I'll recap a little bit. Asked about Goldberg . He knew him before he was a wrestler. Felt that the expectations might have been too high. Though about expanding his character but that idea hasn't really worked out. Want to try to get him back to his original goldberg character. It was a mistake to try to change the mystique around him. Asked about bringing the old guys back in and duplicating someof the things that brought WCW down. He Said he wants the older guys to give 'the rub' to younger guys. Trying to balance the TV time between young and old. Asked why Booker isn't elevated higher. He said that they are trying to elevate him, and his time is imminent. Asked about Sting. Hasn't talked to him in a year. Loosely talked about pairing him with HBK as the 'Holy Rollers'(jokingly). JR doesn't see him fitting in right now. Asked about bringing Sable back. He said that they forgive and forget, and she appeals to the demographic. Asked about Mick Foley in ring. JR said that he might be in on a part time basis in ring. Cut to commercial and I rest my fingers for a moment. Sorry about the haphazard way this is done, I'm going right along with the TV and I'm not a super fast typer.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Back From commercials with a recap of Edge on OTR. Michael asks JR about taking risks in the ring. JR says he's a big fan of mat wrestling. Talked about making the working conditions a little easier. We get into the Drug issue now. JR says he understands the reasoning for taking painkillers but the wrestlers need to look in the mirror because they cant be hovering over them night and day. Talked about Jeff Hardy's problems(dude had a lot of chances and offered a lot of help from JR) Talked about the old days where they didn't ask and didn't tell as far as drugs went as long as the wrestlers were ready to go each night. Asked if he feels guilty about wrestler deaths "on his watch" Talked about Pillman and his heart problems etc. but he doesn't really carry much guilt with himself about people dying because he felt he did all he could do for the people. Feels that there are no 'major' drug issues right now. Commercial break.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 20, 2003 back from commercial talking about Kurt Angle. Jr says he's constantly concerned about his health and the health of the other guys. He's also very offended about the notion of wrestling is fake and no one gets hurt. talked about kurt going at wrestlemania. Dr, Youngblood said initially that the injuries Kurt had were not gonna cost him serious injury so he went ahead. Talked about Stone Cold being finished in the ring. JR plugged his autobiography. Talked about him leaving last year and how we was in a bad marriage and mother nature tapped his shoulder and said 'time to hang them up'. Said he's adjusting well to not being a wrestler but teased a final match for a send off Asked about Trish having actual credibility as a non wrestler who has become a real wrestler. JR put her over for trying to work very hard on her craft and that she works harder than most men do at getting to be a better wrestler. Commercial
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 20, 2003 We return with talking about wrestler books and specifically the cook book. JR talks about the road stories and the autobiographical nature of the book. He then segues into talking about the sauces. JR said that he would be interested in being the radio voice of the Sooners as well as being in WWE and we finish talking about how great JR and Michael fellates him for being on his little talk show. They always say that the wrestling personalities that they have on there talk freely about whatever. It was easy for JR since the questions he was asked were really just softballs and JR didn't really need to strain to fit into a company line on them. Nothing too interesting or new for any internet fan. But not a bad show all in all.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Asked why Booker isn't elevated higher. He said that they are trying to elevate him, and his time is imminent I guess that whole "feud w/ the world champ" wasn't the right time, huh?
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted June 20, 2003 JR on that segment was talking mostly about "the thrill of the chase" type of thing that is going on with him going after Christian right now and how the hunt is usually better than the catch and a bunch of other 'Wool over the eyes of the 12 year old computer fans' rhetoric. Same old Same old.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I guess we’re suppose to be really excited about the thrill of the chase for everyone on the roster trying to beat HHH, then losing and being shipped to Heat, only to work their way up again.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2003 It was a mistake to try to change the mystique around him. 1 : an air or attitude of mystery and reverence developing around something or someone 2 : the special esoteric skill essential in a calling or activity
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Reading about Booker and how is time is "imminent", I bet JR would say the same thing about Benoit. And what's Booker? 38?
