Love Machine vs. Blue Panther, 5/10/92

If this needs to be moved, please do so.

Love Machine and Blue Panther had a Mask vs. Mask match on 5/10/92. Like most lucha libre matches, this one was 2/3 falls. Before the match, there was an extended sequence in which it looked like they were introducing or selecting referees, and Love Machine seemed to throw a temper tantrum.

The first fall went off without a hitch.

In the second fall, they changed officials. Love Machine started to dominate and eventually got so worked up that he went for a Tombstone. (Piledrivers, of course, are illegal in lucha libre.) The referee tried to stop him, but he hit it nonetheless and was disqualified, ending the match.

Afterwards, they had an extended interview with the referee, who seemed to be explaining the whole piledriver rule.

My problem is that I don't speak a word of Spanish, so I have absolutely no idea what was going on during the extended talking sequences. Love Machine had been wrestling in Mexico for a while, so he, from my point of view, probably knew the piledriver rule. The tape I have this on didn't hint at any deep psychology regarding the move with Love Machine and Blue Panther - it's not like he was allowed to do the move before and just drew a stricter official. What was the deal?
