Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted June 24, 2003 Besides the AWA match and the hell in a cell they put the easiest match to find ever on this......that's disappointing
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I don't know about anyone else, but I'm having a hell of a time finding this DVD. I've been to five stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Media Play, Suncoast, and Sam Goody) and none of them had it. Quite annoying.
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 No stores had it besides FYE, which had about 10 of them.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I preordered mine from Amazon.com. It was 17-something before shipping, so less than 20 total.

Guest RollingSambos Report post Posted June 25, 2003 We don't have any of these matches in DVD quality except for Mind Games and HITC I, so it's worth it. You'll be glad when your crappy videotapes fall apart in a few years.
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Just watched the HBK-Diesel match with alternate commentary. Whole thing is basically Shawn and Kev giving each other verbal blowjobs.

Er, I don't think so. Maybe online, but in stores they usually have the best prices around where I live. DVD's are usually 26.99 HBK DVD was $19.99 on sale though, thats why I'm saying it shocked me.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Yeah, FYE is a fucking rip at the Maine Mall. Best Buy is where I do my DVD shopping.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Strange--around here, it seems they randomly mark them down by putting on little red stickers. Like Wrestlemania XIX for $22.99, other PPV DVDs sometimes for $16.99, etc. Usually it's the best deal around here unless I go online and/or look for used ones. Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted June 25, 2003 a DVD could be 8 yrs old and FYE would charge $25 for it. Best Buy gradually drops prices on its dvds
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Odd that they put the Buddy Rose blow away diet promo on here...
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I wonder what the deal is then, since it seems like few places were carrying it anywhere. I know it can't be that popular that they would have sold out so quickly, because they usually order a fair amount of them if they think they'll sell well. Hogan Still Rules was very plentiful at BB the day it came out, as I figured this one would be. Maybe they're not carrying it yet for some reason.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted June 25, 2003 yea, i also got the Hulk still rules dvd the day it came out at best buy and there were tons of them. This really sux tho, i was really looking forward to this DVD.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Best Buy for some reason isn't getting many WWE DVDs any more. I checked 2 Best Buys around here that usually have tons of new WWE DVDs and they didnt have the Rey Mysterio or HBK DVDs and when I asked someone they said that they're not getting as many WWE DVDs anymore. Looks like I'll have to get them online...
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Just picked up Mania 19 yesterday for $19.99 @ Best Buy...was at FYE for 29.99, on sale for 25.00. They had about 10 copies of the Rey DVD at my Best Buy.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Wait a minute... Shawn and Kev give each other verbal blowjobs? They put the Blow-Away Diet ad on there? Subtle, ain't it?
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Its a WWE shopzone conspiracy so we have to pay 24.95-29.95 instead of 19.99 at Best Buy's! I don't really believe that, but remember they did that with Judgment Day & Vengeance 2002 in the States.
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted June 25, 2003 I pre-ordered on Amazon.com for $18.71 so sweet deal if you ask me. But I agree that Best Buy has the best prices for new DVDs. Fuck FYE and all the others.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Without HBK/Owen on here, it just feels empty to me. I'll still own it however.
Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Hey for those who were wondering what's going on with the DVD, here's what I got from 1wrestling.com. It's under Scherer's Daily Lariat: Jason Head sent this one. ... I went to my local Suncoast yesterday to buy the new Shawn Michaels DVD because it was supposed to be released yesterday. I couldn't find it when I was there and I asked the manager and he explained that they didn't have it. He said that his company (The Musicland Group) returned about one million copies to the distributor because the DVDs were encoded wrong; they were encoded the way that a VHS tape would be encoded and then burned onto the discs! He said that they might have them in, instead, either today or tomorrow. This appears to affect all of The Musicland Group stores (Suncoast, MediaPlay, On Cue, & Sam Goody) and their parent company, Best Buy. So there's your answer. Also when I called Best Buy the guy told me there was a problem with the DVD's so they're not in yet.
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 My copy seems to be perfectly fine and I got it from FYE. Aren't they pretty much the same as Sam Goody?
Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted June 25, 2003 It's something like it, FYE is owned by Coconuts. I called the FYE in New York (matter of fact the one that had the signing on monday with the WWE Superstars) and they didn't have it in stock. The guy had no clue why they didn't have it in since the release date was yesterday.
Guest pete Report post Posted July 2, 2003 It took me a few stores until I was able to find the last copy at Sam Goody. I enjoyed the DVD a lot. I thought they chose good matches for the DVD. Sure most of the matches are easy to find but that isn't the point. The idea was to showcase Shawns skills in high profile matches. These were some of his most highprofile matches. I feel that the Iron man match holds up the best over the years. That might be because it's the only pure wrestling match on the DVD that wasn't gimmck oriented. Even though an Iron Man match is a gimmck. HIAC was incredible until the finish that should have been Raw to get Kane over as a monster. The finish sucked in Mind Games, the finish in the blood bath led to cage maches with the Rockers eventually getting te belts. They had a good finish in the No Holds Barred match, and the ladder match. The comebck match finih was acceptable. Overal, an enjoyeable DVD.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 3, 2003 my only problem is that the matches are all (except for the AWA match) easy to get. I really enjoy the building up for the match segments but they could have put some more rare matches on this one. Still worth the buy though.

We all know how versatile Shawn was, yet every match on it except for ironman is a brawl. Even the rockers one. If I had my way, I would've put a rockers/orient express or hart foundation instead of the AWA, Shawn vs Marty instead of Diesel, and Shawn/Jericho instead of HHH. Just to give it some more variety.
