Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Why did they have to let Lynn go? He's probably better off. Awesome vs Taz vs Tanaka from anarchy rules 99 I laughed when the chair fell of Awesomes face as Tanaka was going up top, and Awsome just puts it back over his face like nothing happend, still a cool match. Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Jericho v Scorpio v Douglas v Pitbull #2, even though I hate Douglas and jericho was very prone to fuckups at that point. Raven/stevie v pitbulls is cool Tanaka/Awesome/taz is damn good, as is the N2R match Stairway to hell (NOT the other one) Dreamer v Spicolli (sickest bump ever down an entire crowd stand) And i thought CW anderson/Tommy dreamer was damn good as well. Guest Singular Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Dream/Funk vs. Raven/Cactus Death Match. No barbedwire or anything, so I guess it was more anything goes. If you can stand ECW's fan-cam matches check this one out. Tanaka vs. Awesome (any encounter, even FMW) - These guys brought out the best in each other. I was really hoping WWF would pick up Tanaka, but he would probably be getting squashed on Heat so all the better. Tajiri vs. Super Crazy vs. Little Giudo - These guys had the best three way dances ever. I remember one where Crazy was on top of a table and Giudo was UNDER the same table whe Tajiri did a double foot stomp on Crazy through the table to Giudo below. RVD vs. Sabu - Streacher match. I didn't really like these two guys in the ring together for some reason, but this match was really good.

Guest Special K Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Definitely Eddie and Deano's last match (2/3 falls) is my very favorite. Lots of emotion, and a fine match as well. The RVD/Lynn and Tanaka/Awesome series were almost invariably good. I like Tajiri/Corino Hardcore Heaven 2000, as it's just such a beating. There were a lot of great brawls with Dreamer/Raven/Funk/Cactus too.
Guest Report post Posted March 28, 2002 The speech Shane Douglas gave after winning the NWA world title still sends chills down my spine. This was truly the night ECW was born and the attitude that the underused talent had made ECW my favorite promotion. Favorite matches are cactus/funk almost any of them raven/sandman barbwire match eliminators/rvd and sabu ladder matches mikey/sandman the night mikey won the world title shane douglas/justin credible from cyberslam 99 an amazing match from two performers who were either out of shape (douglas) or just not that good (credible)
Guest Special K Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Oh, by the end of ECW, Tony Marmaluke and Little Guido were just an awesome tag team, a lot of their stuff's gold too. I miss ECW because being in an ECW crowd was just about the most fun things ever. All those brawls in the crowds that come off crappy on TV were a blast live, and it was quite a rush when Sabu (or anyone else) dove into the crowd right next to you. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 28, 2002 I know every single person but me hate Justin Credible...but Justin vs Douglas at Cyberslam 99 was a fucking classic! Mikey & Yoshi vs FBI...they put on some great stuff. Cactus Jack vs Sabu...the 3 or so times they faced off. Whipwreck vs Candido at N2R 96...classic! Justin Creible interupting a 10 bell salute for Dreamer's late grandfather...it looked like the Dudleys even wanted him dead....great stuff. Hell, Balls and Tanaka worked some great matches...Balls Mahoney is VERY underrated as a wrestler
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 28, 2002 Tanaka vs. Balls Mahoney Hardcore Heaven 2000. A great fn match with a ton of believable near falls. Very Overlooked. Snow vs Benoit Double Tables.

Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted March 29, 2002 Raven VS Gordy-Hardcore Heaven '96, one of the most heated crowds I've ever heard in ECW Dreamer VS Sandman "I Quit", The match and angle that started ECW's good period. Storm VS Candido-heatwave M Pro 6 man- I'm hard on this match since it was all M Pro guys but it was the best thing at Barely Legal. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted March 29, 2002 I will share my RVD/Bigelow markout moment as well. I was just watching ECW for the hell of it on Saturday night in April 1998. Local channel 24, cable access. So they show the match of RVD/Bigelow for the TV title and I was into it big time. Then RVD did the first insane leap into the crowd and my jaw dropped. I thought "this guy is fucking crazy." Then what happened next is to me what Snuka's leap was to Foley. The often replayed RVD sommersault into the 5th row! I literally jumped out of my chair at that. I always liked the RVD/Bigelow stuff better than RVD/Lynn. The best RVD/Lynn match I saw was NOT a PPV. It was on an early TNN show. The crowd was so intense at the ECW Arena, I can't exactly describe it. Think Rock/Hogan with about 2000 instead of 68,000.....the crowd seemed to all want Jerry to win the belt that night, but he jobbed as usual. I also like the Awesome/Tanaka matches but if you've seen one, you've seem em all. I will say the New Year's Eve match on TNN was the best one. Tanaka carried Awesome in all those matches, just wanted to clear that one up. I say this because Tanaka had some bad ass matches with Balls too, while Awesome never had any good matches at all aside from Tanaka.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted March 29, 2002 My favorite match was Cactus Jack & Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk from November 2 Remember '95. Stiff ass garbage brawl. Another notable match was Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka from Heatwave '98. My favorite ECW moment was Sandman returning to ECW in '99...the arena lights shut off in the ECW Arena...and "Enter Sandman" begins. When they return, Sandman comes in and canes everyone. Classic moment.
Guest TripleHsmark Report post Posted March 29, 2002 Four way dance for the TV title: Scorp vs. Jericho vs. Douglas vs. Pitbull Douglas provided the layout, Scorp the highspots, Jericho some good work, and Pitbull the crowd support, Douglas the heel heat. I am the only one who was bored during this match? It went on FOREVER, with basically nothing happening for long periods of time. Maybe I should watch it again and see what all the fuss is about. Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted March 29, 2002 Cactus/Whipwreck, Pitbull/Scorpio/Jericho/Douglas, and Double Dog Collars have all got to be, if not very close, *****. Cactus/Whipwreck has emotion, story, psychology, and bumps galore to make this a classic. Foley at his best. The 4 Way is literally non-stop for 40 minutes, like Austin/HHH, but with 4 guys. I loved everything that happened in this match. Double Dog Collars would have been nowhere near the top ECW matches had it not been for the booking. On a usual day, you can mostly start deducting star points for run-ins, but this match had them increasing. I think the RVD/Lynn match from Living Dangerously is about ****1/2, and the Awesome/Tanaka matches were all about ****-****1/4.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted March 29, 2002 Shane Douglas vs. Taz, when Taz finally captured the ECW World Title. Jericho/Douglas/Pitbull #2/Scorpio Dreamer vs. Raven "final match" (before Raven's departure for WCW), while not their "best", it was the match that Tommy finally won, and it led into the WWF invasion. Whipwreck vs. Cactus Jack Tajiri/Mikey vs. FBI feud Douglas vs. Marty Jannetty
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted March 29, 2002 I also think that 4 way TV title match is overrated, but it was still ok. I wasn't bored by it. I do think that the Raven/Richards vs. Pitbulls match is not really as good as it is made out to be. It was a gimmicky booking oriented match....the wrestling in it sucked. The Pitbulls fuck up their big finish at the end, Raven nearly killed himself on the side of a table in a missed spot, etc. I think maybe Heyman ought to do this same booking today with much more talented guys in the WWF. Another good forgotten RVD/Lynn match was on ECW TV in August 98. This was before they actually feuded. RVD got a piece of table caught IN HIS EYE in that match. Also has the best northern lights suplex I've ever seen. The Living Dangerously match was so retarded that I can't give it **** at all. I mean, the booking was dumb as hell. How did the ref even think he could just give Lynn the title because he thought he had a better match, even if it went to the time limit? I've always thought that match was sooooo stupid. The much vaunted Hardcore Heaven rematch was pretty good but ruined by RVD's stalling and posing during the opening minutes, and by Lynn nearly having his skull fractured. Kinda ironic isn't it? RVD is Mr. PPV, yet his best matches have just been on free TV!
