Now I know they have the lights dimmed because it's like that for wrestling shows...but Mania 1 does NOT look like it's sold out when looking at the arena. Maybe it's because of the lights, but look when they have the far away shots with the arena lights mostly on.

1. They can fit more people in the arena for the PPV then a TV show.

 

2. More people are gunna wanna go to a PPV then a regular TV show.

 

3. It gives the PPV that more of a big time feel to it. It's something different then regular TV shows or PPVS.

Bruno Sammartino's reign back about 20 years earlier lasted from 1963-1971, IIRC
