Guest JMA Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Shiek was a great heel, I miss that bald bastard! Didn't he train Steamboat?
Guest Choken One Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Sheik could walk out on Raw and Put his Hands in the air and get more heat then Orton could dream of...
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 I didn't say the match didn't have good psychology and selling by Backlund...just Sheik is a pretty boring wrestler..and it's 12:00 AM, too.
Guest INXS Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 I didn't think the Sheik/Backlund match was boring. Sure, maybe compared to today's matches it could be seen as boring. But the match was crisp and clean (with no caffeine) It had a lot of psychology and no blown spots. Yeah well, the same guys who say it was overrated and sucked are the same guys who will say revolutionarily musical Gods like Elvis, Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, etc., are overrated. No respect for the classic fools.
Guest Nanks Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Anything of any substance in the Flair in Australia segment?? He did a really good interview with the most popular talk show presenter in Oz, Rove McManus, who happens to be a bit of a smark. It was a really good interview and at the end he asked Flair if he could put him in the Figure 4 and Ric let him and sold it and everything!!! It was quality.
Guest Nater Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 May 17, 1963 - Stanly, Andy (Kauffman) and his brother Michael attend a wrestling match at Madison Square Garden. That night "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers loses his World Championship to Bruno Sammartino. Awestruck by what he had just witnessed, Andy begins to dream of a career in professional wrestling. http://andykaufman.jvlnet.com/aktime.htm
