Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 (edited) Taking place in one week, June 28th, from the parking lot of Racks in Dover, DE. Featured attraction is the Extreme 8 itself, which is supposed to be 8 outsiders to CZW battling in four separate deathmatches, with the four winners advancing to the Tournament of Death 2 in July (which I'm going tooooooooo!). Named so far for the Extreme 8: Necro Butcher Ian Rotten Corporal Robinson J.C. Bailey Bishop Slade Deranged "Mr. Insanity" Toby Klein Fourth IWA-MS Competitor Ian Rotten has also stated that a fourth person from IWA-MS will make the trip down to Delaware. Stipulations for the four deathmatches Unlucky 13 Staple Gun Deathmatch (must staple 13 dollar bills to opponent to win match) Barbed Wire Bat & Thumbtack Bat Barbed Wire Tables & Barbed Wire Board Fans Bring The Weapons Also booked: CZW Tag Team Championship Match: Sonjay Dutt & Ruckus vs. Backseat Boys © Nate Hatred & Messiah vs. Nick Gage & Zandig: Winners recieve spots into TOD2 And more (well, there better be) Thoughts so far A week away and we still only know 4 of the people entered so far. While conventional wisdom would say that those are the four who will be going on to TOD2, I doubt it. IWA has their deathmatch tourny a week later, and anyone who goes deep into CZW's tourny probably won't go deep into IWA's, and vice versa. If a person who was booked in both made it to the finals of both tournys, it would be 7 deathmatches in as many days, which is inhuman. As for the 4th IWA representative, I'm hoping for "Spyder" Nate Webb. Mondo/Webb in a deathmatch environment would own all. Course, it could be Mad Man Pondo, Bull Pain, Rollin' Hard, anyone. As for the other three spots, "Mr. Insanity" Toby Klein has said that he's booked for TOD; whether he means the TOD itself or the Extreme 8 I don't know, but I think that he'll show up. Maybe someone from Minnesota, like Horace The Psychopath or Hardcore Craig could fill a spot as well. Maybe both. Who knows. Maybe the Hardcore Ninjas. Maybe the infamous Hellaware Ass(assin), but only if he faces Ian in a shoot. Going back to the 4 already booked, I really only see Necro and Bailey making it to the TOD itself. Ian will be coming off of The Revolution (IWA's Strong Style tourny) held the night before, and is going to be bruised and hurt as fuck. I could see Ian taking someone out, but losing to a freak roll-up or something. I also don't see Corp making it to TOD as well. I've got Corp winning KODM for IWA (course, I have Corp over Bailey in the finals, but us 19 year-olds heal fast), and for some strange reason, Corp and CZW just doesn't seem right. I dunno, it just doesn't. In a perfect world, having Necro, Bailey, Klein, and someone else (Webb) advance would be great. As for the tag match, I would normally say that it would end in a draw and have all four men advance, except for the fact that it would leave Nick Mondo out. I don't see the need to put the Champion of the federation into a deathmatch tournament, but I could also see the IWA'ers attack to keep Zandig out. It's too hard to call, unless my hypothesis of TOD having more then 8 people comes to be true. Who knows. Either way, the tag match leaves 2 spots to be filled by CZW'ers, one of which is going to be Mondo, the other, I dunno. Kashmere? Z-Barr? Wifebeater? Either way, the Extreme 8 looks interesting (it'd be even more interesting if we could have the other 8 people), and TOD2 should be insane. And I'm gonna love it! Youse thoughts? Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 22, 2003 Good preview Sandy. My question to you is..... How exactly are they going to be able to top the TOD this year? What do you possibly see as the ending match? 200 Tube No Rope Barbed Wire? Log Cabins of Light Tubes surrounding the ring? Some sort of new painful deathmatch? Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 To be honest, my personal prediction is that CZW is going to run a circus deathmatch, simply because IWA ran one earlier this year, and they are going to want to top that. That's why I see Bailey moving on to TOD, because he's lived through one of those. Bailey/Mondo TOD2 finale, Circus Deathmatch is my prediction for now. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 22, 2003 Bah. I hate the concept of Circus Matches...its just one big bump, basically. Any chance of LOBO coming back for the TOD2?
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted June 22, 2003 Lobo would be an AWESOME surprise, but he's kept really quiet since his knee surgery, and I doubt he's up for it. As SM said, there are only four slots for CZW guys, and those look filled already.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 Nah. He's simply too banged up to do anything but talk at this point. Since his leg injury, he's really only wrestled four times, I believe. (This Time It's Personal vs. Zandig, Deja Vu vs. Zandig No Rope Barbed Wire, No Excuses vs. Wifebeater Fans Bring The Weapons, Cage of Death 4 vs. Zandig Cage of Death). Lobo's done, for all intents and purposes. Beater, however, if his shoulder heals up now that he's taken the time off to heal it.....
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted June 22, 2003 This may be extremely stupid but what exactly is a circus deathmatch?
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 22, 2003 This may be extremely stupid but what exactly is a circus deathmatch? There's a scaffold, and underneath said scaffold, there's a net of barbed wire above the ring. A notable one occurred in Big Japan which was Mitsuhiro Matsunaga & The Great Kojika (and by great, its strictly his nickname. He fucking sucks) v. Shoji Nakamaki & Seiji Yamakawa. A few big bumps, but aside from that, a regular old brawl after them.
Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted June 22, 2003 my prediction for the tag match is the iwa guys who advance run in on the side of messiah and hatred but mondo and wifey run in for the save and mac smack says wifey is returning for one night only at uvtod2 match restarts gage and zandig win(since messiah is booked for kotdm) as for the final my predction is caribian hell ropes wraped in barbedwire 200 light tubes and panes of glass
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 22, 2003 I just saw the latest edition of CZW: Fake You TV (#101). My god what an angle at the end. The IWA Mid South invasion was SUPER over. The site of Viking Hall whipping chairs at the invaders was one hell of a sight to see.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Two more guys for the Extreme 8 announced: Bishop Slade and Deranged (no, not Special K Deranged, fat deathmatch guy Deranged) Deranged #2 is best known for puking during his first round match vs. Ian Rotten at the 2001 IWA-MS KODM. It's said that he's improved greatly since then, hopefully that's true. Bishop Slade no one knows anything about. Not that it matters, he's just there to be slaughtered, most likely by an IWA guy. Two more spots still available. I got a feeling one will be Toby Klein, and the other is for the fourth IWA worker. Still three days until the event, you'd think that they would have announced all the guys (with the exception of the fourth IWA member if they wanted to keep it a secret) and some of the brackets. I really hope that TOD2 is more organized than this.

Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 www.combat-honor.com has Fake You eps to download, they usually cap and have the episode uploaded on a Saturday or Sunday after the show airs on Friday. Only the current episode is up each week though. CZW also has a mIRC server as well that hosts current and past Fake You eps. Combined, I've got close to 20 Fake You episodes, haven't bothered to count them all.

Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 "Mr. Insanity" Toby Klein is officially in. This just leaves the 4th IWA-MS competitor to be named, and I doubt that will happen until the show itself. Now we just need some brackets and all is kosher. At least with TOD2, six names should be known as soon as the Extreme 8 is over (the four winners of the deathmatches and the winner of the Zandig & Gage/Messiah & Hatred tag, unless something screwy happens there). Count in Mondo and that's 7, just need one more person and brackets, and let the hype begin.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Yeah, I watch it at combat-honor. Thank the ultraviolent gods for that site. Edit: Are they still going to call the guy Deranged, seeing as you know, there's been a guy named Deranged working for CZW for 3 shows?
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Probably. Deranged #2 mostly likely won't be hanging around much, so there is no point in renaming him. Although this is going to lead to lots of questions asking about the two on the czwfans board in the next couple of months. "Dude Derrrranged Special K guy does deaYhmatches durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr?"
