Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 22, 2003 # For those wondering why Shawn Michaels wasn't at RAW this past Monday, it appears that he was simply not written into the show. Officials wanted the focus of the show to be on Mick Foley, Kane, and Evolution. Many were speculating that Michaels was pulled from the show as punishment for the comments he made in an interview with WWE.com, but apparently that is not the case. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch) # Kurt Angle continues to have the reputation of being one of the most well-liked wrestlers in the company. Finding someone to say something bad about him would be very tough. He is also said to be very patient and accommodating to the fans outside of the arena. # WWE is exempt from the New York State Athletic Commission drug testing rules that are being enforced on indy promotions that run shows in the state more than six times per year. The reason being that WWE is already considered to be following these rules since the company is already known for its in-house testing of wrestlers and sending them to a rehabilitation center or releasing them for multiple failures. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # More information has been received regarding WWE's decision to release Jamal of Three Minute Warning. He reportedly had a reputation for being very cocky and being very careless in the ring. He had been on the bubble ever since an incident took place at a nightclub where he threatened to assault a police officer for trying to remove his wife from the building. Rosey, Jamal's tag team partner, is considered to be the exact opposite in that he doesn't have an attitude problem and is well-liked by the other wrestlers. # Vince McMahon continues to shoot down any proposed storyline involving the WCW name being brought back. He feels it wouldn't be a wise move to use the name of a failed promotion. # Roddy Piper tends to keep to himself in the locker room and doesn't associate with many of the other wrestlers. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # ick Foley stated in an interview on WWE.com's Byte This that there is a possibility of Terry Funk being brought in for Monday's RAW. No word on what WWE could have planned for him. # Last night's edition of WWE Smackdown scored a 3.2 broadcast rating, with a 5.7 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That number is down from last week's 3.7, which can be attirbuted in part to the show not airing in the Los Angeles market, due to an L.A. Dodgers baseball game. # Fozzy to perform in Cleveland Chris Jericho and his band, Fozzy, will be performing a live concert -- Fozzfest '03 -- on Thursday (June 26) in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information and how to get tickets, click here. (Thanks to 1wrestling.com & WWE.com) # A very reliable source is reporting that Vince McMahon has expressed some interest in purchasing the UFC mixed-martial-arts promotion in the past. McMahon was said to be interested in purchasing the comnpany from previous owner Bob Meyrowitz, who eventually sold it to Zuffa Entertainment. McMahon's advisors talked him into not buying the company, since they felt that by attaching his name to it would kill any chance of being accepted as a legitimate sport by the mainstream media. McMahon is reportedly still interested in purchasing the promotion, but it holding out until the company has established more credibility. # Nathan Jones was backstage at the recent house show in Orlando visiting friends. There is still no word on when the company plans to use him on television again. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) During an interview with Z103.FM radio this afternoon, Jim Ross told host Tony Monaco that Brock Lesnar had been injured during a boating accident this week. Ross claimed that he was in San Antonio to have his injured ribs examined and decided to go out with some friends on a boat. He apparently fell out of the boat and his leg hit the propeller, causing a very deep gash behind his knee. Lesnar was taken to a local hospital for medical attention. The gash, which was three inches long and about an inch deep, required several stitches to close. Today, Lesnar's knee was very swollen and it's unknown whether he will be able to compete at Tuesday's Smackdown taping at Madison Square Garden. Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 23, 2003 Vince trying to buy UFC is an interesting story. It falls into the pattern of buying out the competition and holding down the workers which McMahon does alot.

Doing that considering the way the WWE seems to be takes a lot of restraint. # More information has been received regarding WWE's decision to release Jamal of Three Minute Warning. Okay, now we know why he was fired--no news on what they'll do with Rosey, though.
