The great kabuki

Recommended Posts

Remember the Great Kabuki. I remember him most for his early to mid 80's run with World Class and I saw some of his stuff from the 70's(IWA) on that Wrestling Classics show on ESPN Classic's. The last angle I remember him in was late 80's and the Great Muta was somehow connected to Kabuki. Anyone remember this? I read an interview with Gary Hart a few years back on some site and he said Kabuki was back in Asia somewhere and that he had a child die a horrible death, not sure if true or not though.

Never heard of him but it sounds kind of weird, but it could very possibly be true.

Thanks.

He was the Great Muta's Dad in the storylines back in the NWA. I don't belive that's true in real life. If the Gary Hart interview was on the net then maybe that's true.

I know I have heard that name before, and it was sometime in my younger years but I can't seem to remember any details or facts about him.

1.No it wasn't true, Kabuki was from Singapore I believe. 2.Thats the problem with the interview, it was on the net, so who knows if it was legit.

Last we saw im in 1 the big 3 was at the 1994 Royal Rumble. I doubt him beiong Mutas father is true, cause i belive i heard Mutas ftahers name said before. Muta was a good matialartist by what i saw on ESPN classics, most recognizably him vs a FACE Ted Dibiase. LOL

After Kabuki's U.S. run in the '80s (most notably with World Class) he went back to Japan. I know he was tagging with Jumbo Tsuruta in 1990. I've got a match on tape where he and Jumbo beat Steve Williams and Terry Gordy for the All Japan tag titles. I believe he was then part of the group Tenryu took with him when he bolted All Japan for the upstart SWS organization. Don't know what happened to the painted one after SWS folded.
