I agree in that the 2/3 falls was the best Dynamite Kid/Tiger Mask match. What puts it a notch above their previous matches is how all the flashy reversal sequences now have meaning, and the fact that Tiger Mask had improved in his execution by light years. Though I wouldn't call them very stiff, his kicks were making contact, while in their previous matches they often glanced or missed badly though DK covered for them with his bumping.

While I will argue that it isn't in the same league as alot of the great 90s junior matches, it does hold up better than alot of junior matches that I've seen from that era. The reason being that the match is carried by story telling and drama rather than impressive at the time, but now dated high spots such as Tiger Mask II/Kobayashi.

I do have problems with the match, the biggest being the restarts which kill the flow in the crucial final run. Hell, there really isn't a final run, as the match lacks any credible near falls near the end. You do agree that it is a very awkardly structured match, and I find the ending to be unstatisfing considering the awesome build.

I also find it frustrating that Kid didn't cover Tiger Mask after the "Victory" battle cry. Considering how most of the match was about hiim learning from past mistakes, you think he would correct the biggest one, and that is covering after the Headbutt. If you recall, this cost him a match before when he chose to go for a second Headbutt.

And no, I don't have a problem with non finishes as I'm big fan of Jumbo/Tenyru 88.

I didn't have a problem with the first restart which I actually loved although the second did inturrupt the flow IMO. According to Dynamite on his website he said that originally the match wasn't sussposed to be restarted and that there was a lot of confusion going on. (If I remember right)

As for Dynamite picking up Tiger Mask and not going for the pin after the headbutt off the top rope that was controversial. However in defence of Dynamite picking up Tiger Mask I think you can say that Dynamite didn't think he had Mask hurt enough yet for the pin. Remember, Tiger Mask is the legend who's never been pinned before and if Dynamite went for the pin he would've been giving precious moments for Tiger Mask to recover. Instead Dynamite decided to continue the beatdown of the neck with a very viscious front facelock.
